Monday planner: On the road again

DEJAN KOVACEVIC, DK ON PITTSBURGH SPORTS

A look at the week ahead on DKonPittsburghSports.com:

• Monday: There’s a Pedro Alvarez column up on the site this morning, and I’ll also produce a ‘News with views’ feature tonight from PNC Park and the game with the Braves.

• Tuesday: Tuesday Twelve Qs from Steelers HQ, minutes after the Mike Tomlin press conference on the South Side. And yes, that number is 12, not 20. I found that the 20 format was taking an awfully long time and, if possible, covering too much ground. Wasn’t comfortable with it. By going to 12, I can feel better about giving more detailed answers to good questions. And for other Qs, hey, I’m here in comments all week long!

• Wednesday: Another Pirates column at night from PNC Park, game vs. Braves

• Thursday: Off to Philly for Steelers column from preseason game vs. Eagles

• Friday: Because of the football game and travel, we’ll skip the Friday Insider and go instead with another edition of Steelers PATs.

This is just the base schedule, mostly drawn up to plan where I’ll be. But there will be other elements and surprises added along the way, as always.

One favor to ask: If you have any issue with the site, please email [email protected]. If you put it in comments or somewhere else, there’s an excellent chance it’ll be missed.

The site is completely back to normal, by the way. In fact, nothing was ever wrong with it. The idiot running it — me — accidentally pulled the plug from the host on Friday night. That’s it. The same idiot didn’t back up the site after July 31. Which meant that the host searched in vain for 17 hours for a more recent backup that didn’t exist.

Thus, I asked for the site to be restored to July 31, and then we all went at manually restoring what had been lost from Aug. 1-14. That’s now done. The only concern is that a few subscribers who changed emails or bought subscriptions as gifts in that span will need to email us if they’ve got any problems. That’s because those were handled manually at the outset.

I’ve also added a general FAQ page you can find atop the menu.

I’m going to repeat this: There’s nothing actually wrong with the site. Never was. There are no bugs, no glitches. There’s an idiot sports writer in charge of it, and he pushed one wrong button.

Thanks, as always, for reading and for your support!
