When citing the Steelers’ best offensive players, one could comfortably go 11 deep and still forget to mention Kelvin Beachum. But maybe it shouldn’t be that way.
The third-year pro out of SMU ranks seventh in the NFL among all tackles, fifth among left tackles, in Pro Football Focus ratings. This despite allowing an unsightly five sacks — three of those in one game against the Bucs — which illustrates how well he’s done on the rest of the snaps.
I spoke with Beachum at the team’s South Side headquarters about his technique as an undersized lineman, his close relationship with Ramon Foster and, of course, the Ravens.
"Rise up" .... always thought this group could be special but they have been so inconsistent. hope they can give Ben the time, he'll make the plays. Kelvin seems like a nice guy, hope that chemistry continues to grow.
So, only the Steelers/NYG use turnstile count as attendance, & all others count tickets distrib./sold. So, Giants & Steelers are not near the top of the league in % capacity. There's a definite trend of less people going to NFL games. Good for TV, not so much for attendance.
Love Kelvin B. When you're a smallish guy at a position that faces behemoths, the only way to survive is to be smarter than the avg. guy & have great technique. I don't know anything about OLine technique, but it is obvious he listens to Munchak & is a student of the game.
Hi Peeps, sorry the OT....did we ever get a ruling on the Open Thread?...just kinda jonesing for a hockey thread -it's been a whole day and half lol!!!
Sarah, there was a Penguins column just yesterday on Simon Despres. That's still on the front page. There will be a game posting three hours before faceoff. There will be another Penguins column after the game tonight. 'Open threads' are a message board kind of thing.
I love the interviews but I also enjoy watching what happens in the room in the foreground. Like watching the guy poking at what ever is in the tub on the pool table.
Do we have a pet turtle in a container?
