Working at Heinz Field. — DEJAN KOVACEVIC

DEJAN KOVACEVIC, DK ON PITTSBURGH SPORTS

A look at the week ahead on the site:

• Monday: The weekly Steelers PATs feature will be up at 2 p.m. Before that, I’ll also post the video podcast of Sunday night’s #1 Cochran Sports Showdown from KDKA-TV.

• Tuesday: Tuesday 12 Qs will take place at 2 p.m. At night, I’ll be over at Consol for Penguins-Devils and a full column. Before any of that, we’ll debut a weekly feature that no one wants but will help us a lot: It will be a promotional post about something we’re brazenly trying to sell, either to you or to newcomers. (Hey, you want honesty here or not?)

• Wednesday: We’ll try again with the Morning Java video. We had some pros fix our lighting/audio issues. If this goes well, it will be a weekly fixture. There also will be a Steelers-Bengals preview column up in mid-afternoon, from the first player availability of the week. Finally, I’ll pay my weekly visit to the 105.9 the X studios for the 5:30 p.m. mayhem with Mark Madden.

• Thursday: Another feature debut here: The weekly video interview. Something a bit more involved than what we’ve done to date. This one will be a preview for the City Game, with angles covering both Pitt and Duquesne.

• Friday: The Friday Insider will be up first thing in the morning. That night, I’ll cover the City Game with a column.

• Saturday: I’ll cover Penguins-Senators at Consol with a column, then hit the road for Ohio.

• Sunday: Steelers-Bengals in Cincinnati.

As always, expect News/views entries and other surprises along the way.

One thing I’m trying to stress, as some of the above hopefully suggests, is moving toward quality over quantity. I could crank out five blah videos a week, or I could do one that really gets some work. Same goes for the video interviews. If the success of the Friday Insider feature has taught me anything here in the infancy of this site, it’s that people will respond much more strongly to something that’s taken real time to get right.
