I’m not generally big on predictions. This is a news/commentary site, not one aimed at betting or being Nostradamus. And far more often than not, when I make a prediction, it won’t come to pass for the simple reason that most predictions don’t: The future is very fickle.
But man, sorry, I can’t let it slide that this site put into print that the Steelers would go 11-5 and make the playoffs, particularly since that was greeted with laughter, derision or both.

What’s funny — and flawed — about that column, in addition to using Dri Archer as the feature photo, is that it also forecast a strong start (nope) and that the Steelers would take advantage of a weak schedule (don’t tell that to the Bucs, Browns, Jets and Saints). The chapters about the offense and defense were mostly money, though, as was the general sentiment that the franchise seemed poised to take a stride forward.
Anyway, just thought I’d share.
If you missed it, here was the Saturday column looking ahead to tonight’s game. Also, I’ll be part of WDVE’s Steelers postgame show with hosts Gregg Henson and Charlie Batch
and, at some point in the middle of the night, have a full column on the game.
