I wonder why I wake not particularly satisfied? A rampaging playoff-minded team would have put up 5 healthy goals against Arizona without much effort. If it weren’t for an empty-netter, a rare gift from Mike Smith, and a tumbling weak shot that might have landed softly next to Smith’s water bottle but instead fell below the crossbar by a millimeter, we’d have lost this game too. We showed more energy in the latter two frames, but still discombobulated as a whole.

Glad for the win. D-zone exits and getting up ice looked purposeful at times. D getting really involved. I wish they looked more orchestrated and not so haphazard. Oh well.

Geometrically, the opposite is true. To take advantage of that, goalies are trained to take a more aggressive stance, take up more of the net and therefore have a greater chance of getting a piece of the deflection. Also, you need to get less of a piece to push the puck wide.
