DK etal, I’m a avid Pittsburgh sports nut, but being displaced down in VA, it was really tough to keep on top of everything, especially the intricate details I came to love when I lived in the ‘Burgh. I started reading your work back in your Penguins beat days and just really appreciated your ability to relate the facts and providing analysis in an unbiased fashion. Even though I had stopped watching baseball due to the last strike, when you moved to the Pirates beat, I went with you. I have always loved your columns, but this site provided me what I’ve missed so much since I moved down here in ’97…real Pittsburgh Sports News worth reading. I feel so fortunate that your foresight in developing this sight when you did, has enabled my family and I to still feel in-touch with the teams we love. Great Work, it is much appreciated and I can’t wait to see all you’re going to do with this site in the future. Happy Father’s Day

I was looking for you at your old gig with no luck. Finally googled you and found this site. Immediately signed up as a lunatic. Signed my kids and a few friends up. Best money I ever spent! Everyone thanks me or mentions items they read on the site. It’s easy for me to get my friends not living in Pittsburgh to sign up, not so for my friends living in the Burgh. I’m certain you’ll get more and more locals to join once they realize how good this site actually is. Wishing you continued success because I’d be lost without you guys!

This site is a blessing. As a business traveler who spends at least 50%, if not more, of my time on the road- grabbing my iPad late at night in my hotel room is the way I stay connected to what’s going on with the local teams. I’m excited for the upcoming college coverage you are adding and love the way this site has grown while still being committed to and guided by DK’s original vision and mission.

I especially enjoy the personal insights to the person ‘behind the athlete’ often in the videos that are a must watch for me. because much like an actor in a role we really don’t know who the real person is by the performance in some cases.

LOVE the soccer coverage – please keep it up! I’m not a fan of any college sports, but totally understand others are and I’m glad you cover ALL Pittsburgh sports. Even those I’m not interested in.

I guess this will be a challenge for the site as it moves on. Since people are paying to be here, we hopefully won’t get the drive by trolls that pollute espn, etc. There are, like, professionals snots on some of those sites. We still get a little sniping back and forth and some dudes that are hitting the bottle or something, if that keeps up it will deter some folks for sure, but that’s why DK is making the BIG BUCKS, lol

I’m so glad you brought this up. In general, I absolutely despite reading comments from readers on other websites. Read a Tiger Woods article on ESPN.com, for instance, and the comments are mocking, racist, and just all kinds of bad. It amazes and disgusts me. TSN is awful for that also. BUT then I read the comments on here and I am absolutely delighted. The subscribers of this website are remarkably knowledgable and make wonderful insights. I literally read every comment every day, and not for egotistical reasons. Honestly, it’s a good read.

In my world, soccer is almost as big a yawn as basketball. But that doesn't mean The Riverhounds aren't worthy of coverage. The site isn't about one person's tastes. Don’t know how much clearer I can make this: I really don’t follow any soccer anywhere apart from that which is played by the local franchise. I do watch the national teams in major competition, but that’s it.
