Monday Planner: Showing our Cards early

By Dejan Kovacevic
A look at the week ahead on the site …

Monday: The week opens, as always, with a photo gallery from Dave DiCello. On the baseball front, and it will be a large week for that, Nate Barnes analyzes the Pirates’ All-Star hopefuls for tonight. Josh Yohe will cover the actual selections tonight at PNC Park, while Nate picks up the Pirates-Padres opener. At 5 p.m., I’ll appear on Penguins 24/7 Radio with Brian Metzer, then join the crowd at PNC and work on those Tuesday 10 Qs.

Tuesday: The Tuesday 10 Qs get published at 9 a.m. Josh will have a piece on pucks. I’ll cover Pirates-Padres Part II at night, but Nate will pick up the pregame.

Wednesday: Morning Java is up bright and early. Same arrangement at PNC as the previous day, with me doing a column and Nate on pregame. At 5:30 p.m., I’ll make my weekly visit to the 105.9 the X studios for a segment with Mark Madden. And reporting from Toronto, Matt Gajtka will cover the Riverhounds christening that city’s new soccer stadium.

Thursday: Nate will have an extensive preview of Pirates-Cardinals. The new weekly analytical feature by Matt will be up first thing. And at PNC by nightfall, Nate and Josh will double-team the opener of the much-anticipated Pirates-Cardinals series. I’ll be there, too, rounding out Friday Insider. Heck, I’ll probably write a game column, too. Not sure.

Friday: The Insider goes up a tick after midnight. At 5 p.m., I’m on 970 ESPN with David Todd. At night, I’m double-teaming Pirates-Cardinals II.

Saturday: It’s me and Nate again on Pirates-Cardinals III.

Sunday: We’ll wrap up Pirates-Cardinals, while Josh heads to Cincinnati to begin three solid days of Major League Baseball All-Star Game coverage, beginning with Futures that night.

As always, expect news, videos, podcasts and other surprises along the way.
