Oh I agree… but we shipped him out. He wasnt a big time game changer. And he became a key player on other teams. He could turn out the same way. Maybe. Maybe not. I just hate that.

ARam for the Pirates in 2001.
BA 300 HR 34 RBI 112 on an absolutely awful team.

ARam for the Pirates in 2003. BA 280 HR 12 RBI 67 in only half of the yr with us. after the trade to the Cubs he finished the yr, BA 272 HR 27 RBI 106

I believe ARam was a + defender at 3B in his time with us too.

Pedro had the yr in 2013 with the 36 HR & 100 RBI.

However, when has Pedro ever had a BA anywhere close to 280 or 300?

Banjo, Aramis Ramirez when he was a Pirate, was better on his worst days for us, then Pedro has ever been.

That ARam for Bobby Hill trade still ranks as my worst night ever as a Pirates fan.

I hear everything everybody’s saying. And I’m sure there will be bad errors in key games. But the rest of the defense has hardly been lights out. Mercer, who sees a lot more batted balls, seems to be booting very easy plays with regularity. As I said elsewhere, Harrison has been far from great. Polanco has been a mess. And I just don’t see Rodriguez/ Ishikawa as a significant upgrade. So, yeah, I think Pedro should DH, but it’s not like the team is wildly better with that alignment than it would be if he played the field and one of those guys was the DH. Marginal difference for the better, in my opinion.
