Phantaskippy, maybe you should read an independent report on Kevin Colbert, because you are coming off as a "homie". Kevin Colbert is nowhere near a top 10 GM as demonstrated by one report that ranked Colbert at 19 among 32 and states:
“Kevin Colbert is unreasonably good at drafting receivers. The rest? Let’s just say he’s lucky to have Ben Roethlisberger. Colbert has let the Steelers’ typically elite defense slip into mediocrity, while finding offensive linemen capable of keeping Roethlisberger upright has proven a daunting challenge for the Steelers’ personnel man. Colbert’s line was improved in 2014, but his collection of 53 players still failed to win a playoff game for the fourth time in as many years. With Dick LeBeau and Troy Polamalu both gone, Colbert is running out of connections to the Steelers’ 2000s golden age, which will only shine a brighter light on his roster failures. Colbert has been around for some boom times, but the further the Steelers get from the Bill Cowher era, the less clear it gets just how much of an asset Colbert really is.”

The biggest player personnel blunder last year was only using one RB Bell and ignoring Blount. And then cutting Blount leaving the Steelers without a backup RB. That was an unforgiveable sin, a fatal suicidal decision. Both of these men need to take full accountability in that. Tomlin has been a chronic clock mismanager. One of the worst. Neither deserves an early extension based on the last few years. They should both be on probation until their contracts expire. You're only as good as your last play/game/season and that means they haven't been so good lately. The Steelers had an great season last year because of three men and three men: Big Ben, Antonio Brown and Bell. It had nothing to do with Tomlin or Todd Hailey. Once Bell went down so did the season.

Ugh, when he is wrong at judging talent, he is really wrong, which minimizes his few good drafts (as Free Agency does not seem to be a viable option for the Steelers any given year). I really wished the Steelers would have moved on with him. Hopefully he can hire better talent scouts and listen to them for a change. He is definitely not rated anywhere near the top around the league at GM, as per previous independent ratings reflect. Here is just one report that ranked Colbert at 19 among 32 and states:
“Kevin Colbert is unreasonably good at drafting receivers. The rest? Let’s just say he’s lucky to have Ben Roethlisberger. Colbert has been around for some boom times, but the further the Steelers get from the Bill Cowher era, the less clear it gets just how much of an asset Colbert really is.”

When your coach & GM have a "franchise QB" and haven't won a playoff game in 5 years, why would you extend them? Make them play out the remainder of the year and see how it goes.

You don't have to have a quality candidate lined up in order to know that your current guy is not the answer.

I want to see Clueless & Coach Cliche win with Kordell Stewart under center.
