JOSH
CINCINNATI -- A.J. Burnett vowed Saturday night that he hasn't thrown his last pitch.

But he did make an extraordinary acknowledgement, in an exclusive interview with DKPittsburghSports.com, that at one point in his most recent start, Thursday against the Reds, the pain in his elbow had become so excruciating that he considered pushing it to the limit just to find out how bad it really was.

Which explained, finally, why his velocity spiked dramatically in his final inning that night, astonishingly achieving a season-high 95 mph.
