From my seat in the PNC Park press box, I always have a good view of the seventh inning tradition on the 300 level. Fans turn their backs to the field for a moment, look up the Pirates' TV or radio booth and enjoy being showered with gifts from broadcaster Steve Blass. It's great fun.
And really, his mere presence is the greatest gift of all.
Blass might be the ultimate Pittsburgh Pirate, representing all that is good about the organization. He's a very, very good dude.
