Former Penguins: Mario will choose wisely

JOSH
Phil Bourque once told me a great story.

It was Game 6 of the 1991 Wales Conference Final, and the Penguins were trailing the Bruins, 2-1, in the second period. A loose puck from behind the net caromed toward Mario Lemieux, whose stick was being held.

"So," Bourque said, "Mario yelled at me to shoot the puck. He saw it coming toward me and he knew he wouldn't be able to get to it. So, you know, I shot it, because when Mario told you to do something, you did it."
