Career: After graduating from Westminster College in 2006, Jason took the next logical step and moved to Northern Virginia to take a landscaping job at George Mason University, learning the hard way that writing jobs for 22-year-olds with no experience aren’t exactly guaranteed. After working for a pair of weekly papers there, Jason moved up to The Washington Post, where he worked 13 months before moving home. He spent four-plus years at the Tribune-Review — leaving for a year in the middle to work at the Observer-Reporter in Washington, Pa. — and covered the Penguins for the Trib from August 2014 to November 2015. He also appears on Pittsburgh’s iHeartMedia radio stations.

Personal: Jason lives in Mt. Lebanon with wife Abby and son Rider. His hobbies include listening to the Grateful Dead, running and drinking coffee, only one of which he does as much as he’d like. When he’s not getting dragged on hikes by his wife, Jason prefers to sit in silence.
