Now THAT looks like a Major League lineup. Let's Go Bucs!

With tomorrow being an off day I'm surprised Cervelli is not catching. I know Stewart is the personal catcher for Cole, but doesnt Cervelli have to catch him a little too? IMO its kind of a big game today

I dunno Steel...Stewart has been pretty good for us this year. Pretty active bat, decent framing, Cole likes him...I'll take my chances with that. Also, Cervelli could use some more rest with that wrist.

Yes he is....nasty slider.

Yessir.....Royals made a great move there...

I think the Giants or Dodgers will end up with Price.

Sometimes I feel the way you do. Then I read things like this and it makes me wonder would big deal really help. http://triblive.com/mobile/8794565-96/deadline-pirates-trade

I like our #1, #2, #3 as is...more than Cueto in the playoffs.
We need a guy who hits lefties. Ramirez was a really nice pick-up, but didn't Yohe report he hits rhp better than lhp. That isn't a criticism of the addition, it's a comment on what the Bucs STILL need.
The WC is probably our route - that's okay, been done a bunch of times, but let's get that bat...and maybe Barmes or something to improve the bench. Maybe a rp too - Caminero and Guerra probably aren't ready for post season prime time.

Jay bruce is all but gone to the Mets as well.

Wow....Mets stepping up too.

I did not say anywhere I wanted Cueto or even another starter...just made the obvious comment that some teams (Royals and now Mets) go all in when their window opens...glaring holes in Pen and at 1st and NH sits around waiting for the best bargain...Ramierez is a nice story, but he is what he is, a temp replacement for JayHay and will be a nice bat off the bench come Sept.

I can't find any record that the trade was completed

JAL - probably needs league approval to be "official"...don't think they do that over weekends? BR, Heyman, and ESPN have been wrong before so anything is possible...but too much smoke to not be serious...if it was a random tweet, I'd be skeptical, but pretty much all media, even local CIN is reporting

I received the notification on the Cueto deal through my MLB At Bat app....trade is being finalized.

Lets see, Locke pitched well in 7 of his last 8 games. How does that stack up with Leake?

you think Leake is enough of an upgrade over Lockey to give up assets? I for one, do not...Kazmir would have been the one to grab IMO

The Cards get the same benefit, as do the Cubs, but we should take advantage all we can.

Yep agreed on both counts. Getting there Reds next week isn't going to bad as tough as it appeared. And that's a good thing as the Bucs can't afford another awful road trip.

Yes need to be very careful who you sign long term See Walker, Neil.

Who has to face facts? Pretty sure if I'm a player on this team I never give up. I don't concede the division to the cards and I work hard play hard and keep playing til ok eliminated.

Tell that to Gene Mauch (may he rest in peace), and Yogi.

Are you talking September when rosters expand? If so maybe. But otherwise this is nonsense.

why is it "nonsense"? might not be traditional, but "nonsense"? you would
rather see Caminaro shit the bed, or Bastardo, than seeing what Glasnow has against MLB hitters? or continue to see Rodriguez and his .200 avg than see what Bell could do?

It is nonsense. There. I said it. Nonsense. Players that are not ready for MLB don't do well in MLB. Fact. And pointing out other players that aren't doing well as your only reason for calling them up is fallacy. There are other ways to replace caminaro which has to happen. But this nonsense about rushing prospects just because they can't do worse than what's here isn't followed by any major league team. Nonsense. Nonsense. Nonsense.

so your logic is continue to play guys who have proven in the majors that they are not MLB quality players over your 2 best prospects? your mindset is stuck in the 90s...look at all the young talent that has been brought up by the Dodgers, and Nationals, and Rangers, and Cubs. worst case? you send the kid back down. best case? you see the kid is not going to help you in the immediate window and you move him for someone who can. but your logic, no real stats or anything to back it up, is that kids who are not ready do not do well in majors. not sure I understand that how it was typed, but how do you know when they are ready if they are not tested?

Ask Pedro Alvarez if getting rushed can effect your development.

No, I think his point is that playing guys who have not yet proven that they can succeed in AAA in the majors is a pretty silly thing to do.

All very premature questions. No doubt NH will at least have the $ that AJ and Pedro are making. There are a ton of FA pitchers projected. I would also think Taillon at this point is penciled in for sometime in 2016. But way too early to be thinking about 2016.

what has Tallion done on ANY level
thus far proving he is a capable MLB starter? kid cannot even make it through half a season in Indy without a season ending injury

Taillon's arm is and should be ready by at least midseason if he recovers from the hernia. A ton of vgood pitchers will be FAs-Porcello, Zimmerman, Price, Cueto, Greinke, Fister, Samardzija, Leake and more

C'mon, Radio, the Pirates aren't your beloved Red Sox. Season's far from over. 😉

JAL, let's not forget he had Tommy John 2 years ago...so two major injuries in 3 years for a 22 year old SP...not a good start

I'll wait until November to have this discussion. Geeze.

Taillon, Kingman and Cumpton will be healthy by mid season. I don't know if you've noticed this, but Liz has been lights out at Indy since moving into the rotation. Sampson should be ready by mid-season. Angel Sanchez has been very good at Altoona, then Indy. Glasnow could be ready by mid-season. But I wouldn't be surprised to see a starter signed as a free agent. Frankly, I'm more worried about how the Pirates are going to replace first-half A.J., because expecting him to continue to perform at this level seems wildly optimistic to me.

that's great...I love lamp!

I love desk

You just moved up to CoolNeal (Neal Cooling, BTW) status...nice to see you guys can take a joke and play along.

^ should probably spell his name right, however
