SAN DIEGO — A look at another absolutely insane week ahead on the site …

Monday: We open, as always, with our Dave DiCello photo gallery. Josh Yohe will cover the Penguins’ practice at Consol, and he’ll have Good Dudes at 2 p.m. Matt Gajtka will take your Live Qs at 5. And by nightfall, Neal Coolong and I will report on Steelers-Chargers from Qualcomm Stadium.

Tuesday: Josh will be with the Penguins morning, noon and night on the day of their 49th home opener, this vs. the Habs. He’ll also take your Live Qs at 5. I’d love to be at the home opener, too, but I’ll be flying back from the farthest continental point in the country. Matt has the Mike Tomlin press conference, as well as a piece on Pitt football, which he’ll cover all week, including the trip to Georgia Tech. Neal has his Steelers PATs analysis at 8:25 p.m., exactly 24 hours after kickoff.

Monday: We open this week with my column looking ahead to the Penguins’ season that opens Thursday in Dallas. We’ve also got our Dave DiCello photo gallery. Josh Yohe will be back on the beat at Consol this morning, and he’ll have Good Dudes at 2 p.m.. Neal Coolong will be back on his beat, too, over on the South Side. I’ve got Five Qs at 5 in place of Matt Gajtka, as we’re trying to buy him a day off in advance of what surely will be a month-long playoff run for the baseball club.

Tuesday: Matt will begin the day with a special edition of Matt’s Stats focused on the wild card game. I already know the topic, and it’s exceedingly cool. Neal has the Mike Tomlin press conference at noon, and then he’ll take your Five Qs at 5. Josh has pucks. Matt and I will both cover the Pirates’ workout day at PNC Park. He’ll catch you up on the news, and I’ll write fancy words.

In addition to the coverage Neal Coolong and I offer from Steelers-Rams here, we’ll fly back just in time to cover the Mike Tomlin press conference at noon on the South Side. I’ll head over to PNC Park for the opener of Pirates-Cardinals because, hey, I just can’t get enough St. Louis sports. Josh Yohe will have Good Dudes at 2 p.m., then fly up to Quebec City to cover the Penguins and Nordiques … uh, Canadiens. Matt Gajtka, back from 10 days all over the country, will take your Five Qs at 5. Contributor Steve Brenner will cover the Pat Narduzzi press conference at Pitt HQ. Contributor Zachary Weiss will offer our Duquesne notebook.

Tuesday: Neal Coolong’s Steelers PATs start us off, he’ll waste no time covering the short week of practices leading up to the Baltimore game Thursday, and he’ll take Five Qs at 5, as well. Tuesday: I’m headed out to Milwaukee for a week on the road covering the Pirates. I’ll begin by writing from Miller Park that afternoon. Neal will have the Mike Tomlin press conference, the Steelers’ first big cutdown day, coverage of practice and Five Qs. This also will be the day we begin covering Penn State and West Virginia football, with correspondents Connor Whooley and Nicole Curtin reporting from State College and Morgantown, respectively, on the James Franklin and Dana Holgorsen press conferences.

Monday: I’d made up my mind to take yesterday off, even with the Steelers and Pirates both in action, and it wasn’t just so I could watch from the couch for once. It’s because I’m headed out on the road for a full week with the Pirates beginning tomorrow in St. Louis, then continuing on to New York. In the meantime, our week here will start with Neal Coolong’s coverage from Canton, Matt Gajtka’s coverage from PNC Park, Josh Yohe’s Good Dudes and a Dave DiCello photo gallery. Oh, and I’ll take Five Qs at 5 today.

Tuesday: The Steelers will be back in Latrobe, and so will Neal. While there, Neal will have the Five Qs. I’ll cover Pirates-Cardinals from Busch.

Monday: I’ll be out in Latrobe today with the Steelers, spelling Neal Coolong. And in addition to covering the football, I’ll file the very first session of our new question-and-answer format, one that will both increase the number of questions fielded, as well as the variety. It will be called ‘Five Qs at 5.’ I’ll do the Monday and Friday editions. Neal will do Tuesday, Matt Gajtka Wednesday and Josh Yohe Thursday. At night, Matt will be at PNC Park for the opener of a Pirates-Cubs trilogy.

Tuesday: The Steelers are off, but Neal will have Five Qs. Josh will be at Pirates-Cubs. I’ll do a full radio show, 3-6 p.m., on 105.9 the X filling in for Mark Madden.
