Anyway – who’s buying Walker’s absence as a “planned” day off (????) to ease him back in because of his back? Anyone?? Bueller?? Bueller??

    1. patrick(ri) says:

Right after I finish paying for Piemental’s sore ankle.

    2. Aerow says:

I thought he looked a bit stiff last night, just a tad off his normal fielding range. I don’t think he has 100% mobility yet…

  2. Tom P. says:

Lineups available at the Site’s Back Up thread.

  3. patrick(ri) says:

This is starting to remind me of the ’97 “Freak Show.” Except we had better starting pitching then.

  4. Radio wave says:

In the wild card watch, hils lead giants 2-1 in fifth.

  5. g8rh8r says:

now site is using my old name….this is getting stupid

    1. Dejan Kovacevic says:

You should be good now. Asking patience.

      1. g8rh8r says:

I’m sorry I’ll keep my mouth shut. I enjoy your stuff and I will wait for it to settle out

        1. Dejan Kovacevic says:

But that’s the thing. The site is actually fine. I’M the idiot here. Rip me, if you want, but the site’s functioning perfectly when some idiot isn’t pulling the plug on it, like I did.

        2. Carlos Danger says:

Don’t beat yourself up too bad DK. Everyone makes mistakes. The negative reaction to the site being down for a short time just shows how popular it is already. We need our local sporting news and blogs. I was starting to go through withdrawal.

        3. TJA says:

          What you said Carlos!

        4. TJA says:

All is fine…don’t beat yourself up, Dejan.

      2. Doc says:

Ok, DK…. One mistake, then the bench for you and we bring in Colin Dunlap…..

        or not

  6. Radio wave says:

    Phils take a 3-1 lead.

  7. Radio wave says:

    Make it 5-1 phils.

  8. Karen22 says:

WHOA! This is weird. Comments all over the place! LOL! I feel bad for DK…thinking this shouldn’t happen with a website host, new or established. But hey, we’re still alive!

    1. g8rh8r says:

I know, I am getting a little frustrated, but what are you going to do? What a mess

      1. Dejan Kovacevic says:

It’s really not. There aren’t any bugs. I made one hell of a mistake and basically punched the site out of existence. Best we could do for a recovery file was July 31. This is entirely on me. One dumb mistake I wish I could have back.

  9. TJA says:

Loking at the standings this afternoon and got to thinking….At this point…need to keep this a 3 team race. Can’t let the Reds back in. They re 6.5 out. Keep it that way….

    1. camchuck says:

I agree….keep the Reds back where they belong….cant stand their fans or team…

  10. Biz says:

We need to give Dejan time to get the bugs worked out here ;-)

  11. JAL says:

  12. Radio wave says:

Phils pen blows up. Giants tie it 5-5.

  13. Biz says:

    5-5 now at Frisco

  14. Barb says:

Dejan I feel your pain. When any one asks me if know anything about technology, my pat answer is “Just enough to be dangerous.” I am happy to see that the site is back up and running. I miss my DK fix.

  15. Patrick(ri) says:

Settling in with my friend, Jim Beam, to watch & hope.

  16. And DK said I posted too fast. At least I didn’t pull the plug on the site.

    :D

    1. Jandy says:

He said EYE did that, Spunky ;)

      1. He gave me an unbold reaming last night, J-girl.

  17. stuart66 says:

In Delaware watching game on Nat’s TV. Their announcers say Gaby is “dangerous with 2 strikes”. They say Locke has a “herky-jerky” delivery.

    Stuart

    1. g8rh8r says:

Don’t you love how Nats TV only shows the pitch tracker for their batters, ha ha.

      1. stuart66 says:

Yes, but we are up 3-0!

        Ley’s raise it!

        Stuart

  18. Lad 9 says:

Same here. I already got more value than my $54. The next 35 months are a freebie ad far as I am concerned.

In section 223 my usual. Go Stiller’s. Go Pirates!

    1. Jandy says:

      Bring home the win, Laddie!

  19. Biz says:

43 pitches thru 2 for Gonzalez

  20. g8rh8r says:

My unscientific analysis shows that everyone of our batters would have walked if they took every pitch, lol

    1. Jandy says:

Hubby said the same thing, G8

  21. g8rh8r says:

comments seem to be appearing via delorean, ha ha….going back in time

  22. Radio wave says:
    -1

    Giants win 6-5

  23. Reading says:

Not very sharp, I guess. Kept looking at the giant carrot symbols and thinking what the hell are those? Then realized (up and down votes). Okay, carry on.

  24. Cmat0829 says:

Sites back !! I have to believe that when Cole returns Jeff Locke goes to Indy for 2 weeks AND they skip Morton for one start. As much as I think Volquez could be good in the pen with Morton’s struggles they need Edison on the rotation.

  25. Patrick(ri) says:

Where are the good teams? Oakland? Angels? I have rarely seen a well played game this season. Have not seen either Oakland or the Angels.

    1. Cmat0829 says:

Agree. IMHO the most talented teams in NL are dodgers and nats. In the AL it is the As and Angels. I do not think any other team including the vaunted tigers are better than the other contenders.

  26. Cmat0829 says:
    -1

Gaby!! Big big two out two RBI single there. Gio isn’t the same since the PED rumors. And Bryce Harper is not a 5tool player with that arm.

    1. pattonbb says:

      Just a tool.

      1. Cmat0829 says:

There once was a Trout or Harper debate going on. Hmmmm. Not remotely close.

  27. stuart66 says:

Hey H8er of saurian reptiles, are you in the wash area?

    Stuart

    1. g8rh8r says:

No I’m in the swamp area….I have the MLB thing on the computer so I only get the away feeds…ITS HORRIBLE, lol but you get to hear different announcers perspectives, etc

      1. stuart66 says:

        Gainzvull swamp?

        Stu

      2. g8rh8r says:

Ha ha, nope..hence the gator hator name. I’m in Daytona Beach area, or as we call it “The Redneck Riviera”

  28. Cmat0829 says:

Locke is working quickly and with confidence. Keep it up Jeff!

    1. g8rh8r says:

I know, its amazing how his whole demeanor is different. He looks like he’s seriously in the zone…keep it up!

  29. Patrick(ri) says:

Hope Marte grabs the clean up spot and holds it for years! Looking good lately.

    1. Cmat0829 says:

He’s got tons of talent. We need to remember his age and cost the next time he slumps. He’s a good piece for this team for a while.

      1. Jandy says:

Smart of Clint to play him there while he’s hot

  30. Cmat0829 says:

Lockes location in the 5th is concerning. Short leash please.

    1. Jandy says:

HUH? He just struck out 2 batters

      1. Cmat0829 says:

He badly missed in the middle of the plate. He did battle back but short leash was warranted.

      2. Jandy says:

well, not sure about that, but he’s definitely out and Lurch did a good job finishing off the inning.

  31. Jandy says:

Can’t believe Snider made that catch on Harper LOL

    1. Cmat0829 says:

      Hes the most improved.

    2. stuart66 says:

      +++++++

Hi J, good to see ya!

      Stu

      1. Jandy says:

Hey hey Stu! Good to join the Loonie Crue :)

    3. Jandy says:

And he has an ouchie for his efforts…good job Lunchbox!

  32. Jandy says:

I remember when EYE shut the site down…Dejan surpassed my blunder lol.
Makes me feel better, Boss :D

  33. Radio wave says:

This is good. Williams on his pre game show was concerned about his tired pen.

  34. stuart66 says:

G8or, any chance tou’ve seen Drew?

    He’s missed around here!

    Stuart

    1. Biz says:

Yes, Drew, AW, 21 and TC among others are still missed.

      1. Jandy says:

AW has posted now and then

  35. Jandy says:

And Petey is back to hi antics smh

  36. Jandy says:

    His even

    1. Barb says:

Again!?!?!?!? You can’t fix what is broken.

      1. Jandy says:

        :(

  37. Jandy says:
    -1

    Sweet snag by JHay!

  38. Barb says:

    Alright Lurch!

  39. theplanisworking says:

Glad to see the site back after Jandy and Dejan conspired to break it. Nice work, you two!!

Nicer to see the Bucs up 3-0.
    Need a W here tonight.

    Any word on Cutch?

    1. Cmat0829 says:

Cutch running taking bp. Bucs very optimistic and there’s a chance he plays Tuesday vs braves.

      1. Jandy says:

        That would be great

      2. Cmat0829 says:

        That would be amazing.

    2. Jandy says:

Cutch is having good time jamming in the dugout.
Dejan did a MUCH better job than eye did ;)

  40. Cmat0829 says:

Hughes is clutch to be sure. Great move by Clint. 3-0 to the 7th. How important is axford and an improved Wilson the this pen? Could make the difference IF they can both deliver.

  41. Biz says:

CH gave a positive report on Cutch, swinging hard, running the bases, but would not commit to Tuesday

  42. g8rh8r says:

    Man…Polanco not looking good

    1. Cmat0829 says:

Yep. Good thing we don’t need him to be our savior.

  43. Jandy says:

    Nice DP!

  44. Jandy says:

And Marte trying to look as good as Lunchbox :)

  45. Barb says:

Nice DP and a great catch by Marte. Wow!

  46. Cmat0829 says:

Marte cf defense >> cutchs cf defense (and >martes lf defense. ).

  47. Jandy says:

crap! another friggin DP on us

  48. Biz says:

So, I’m thinking Locke goes when Cole is activated?

    1. stuart66 says:

Hey Biz, my WIFE thought it was Friday!

      Locke out dueled Cholly.

      Just sayin.

      Stu

    2. Biz says:

Chollie has 16 million on his contract ;-)

      No way Jose

  49. Jandy says:

SD 6-5 over SL bottom of 6th

  50. Jandy says:

Tony Watson not getting it done

    1. Jandy says:

      crap

  51. Cmat0829 says:

You know what? Jhay can play ss very adequately.

  52. Jandy says:

    Jeez-oh-man

  53. aaron says:

Okay…..show of hands…. Who is surprised the pen just blew another one? Wow….

    1. Cmat0829 says:

You can’t lump Watson in with the pen narrative.

      1. Aaron says:

True, however, the pen did blow another game, which was my main point.

  54. Cmat0829 says:

Damn Adam laroche. Big time mistake from Watson and Martin there. 2 run HR was the only thing you didn’t want to allow. And they put it on Adams wheelhouse. Damn. We NEED this game.

  55. stuart66 says:

    Triple YOI.

No one up in pen. Tony losin it.

    Stu

  56. g8rh8r says:

Same dude over and over. That damn Laroche…this team is going to kill me

    1. aaron says:

Laroche….I can still see him whiffing on breaking balls as a bucco….then he is Babe Ruth incarnate every time he plays us.

  57. Wild Bill says:

Watson not sharp and it cost us.

  58. Reading says:

    Classic ex-Pirate troll hit. Uncanny.

  59. stuart66 says:

Now that the score is tied, will we see Jeanmar?

    Stu

  60. g8rh8r says:

    yeah but here is nix!!

  61. Reading says:

Not to be an alarmist, but in midst of 3-game losing streak, it doesn’t get much worse than the Pirates’ best reliever to give up three runs. I know it’s tied, but that’s pretty much ballgame.

    1. g8rh8r says:

at least you don’t have to listen to the Nats announcers. They talk about the nats when they are up, we’re up, during commercials, etc

  62. Radio wave says:

    First lefty hr off watson.

  63. stuart66 says:

    Martinez.

    Nat’s are feelin it.

    Stuart

  64. g8rh8r says:

    Bad News Bears

  65. Jandy says:

    UGH!

  66. Jandy says:

    Good night!

  67. g8rh8r says:

    Unbelievable

  68. theplanisworking says:

Well, since Jandy and DK broke the blog, and I have jinxed the Pirates by watching the game, I will sign off.
Maybe they can pull it out.

(I am referring to BOTH the blog fix and the Bucs W)
    ;)

    1. theplanisworking says:

      Or not!
      Sorry for jinxing them.
      Good night all.

  69. g8rh8r says:

    Nice catch?

  70. Reading says:

Well, that was pleasant. Thanks for stopping by.

Particularly annoying to have that no load Laroche basically win the game for them.

  71. Radio wave says:

One of the worst pen nights of the year.

  72. Karen22 says:

LEAD OFF WALKS!! That is all…

  73. aaron says:

That feels like the beginning of the end….this could get out of control if they don’t string a couple of W’s together NOW

  74. stuart66 says:

    Lower it!

    Another effort by Locke wasted.

    Many shots of Gatorade showers.

Can’t remember which female athlete that was married to Nat’s announcer Ray
    Knight.

    Stuart

    1. camchuck says:

      Nancy Lopez….

      1. stuart66 says:

        Thnx.

        Stuart

    2. The Gunner says:

      Nancy Lopez. golfer

  75. Reading says:

Nix and Martinez were two of the three ninth inning batters. For all intents and purposes, two automatic outs. They seem to be coming up a lot lately in the final team at bat.

    1. Floridasteeler says:

Remember, Neal said this team didn’t need any additions. If they blow this, it falls on the shoulders of Neal. We can keep watching our “prospects.”

  76. Brian Campbell says:

thats why i have lost desire in watching them as of late. Lifetime bucco fan but i cant take another disaster after how they’ve played the last year and a half. i just look at updates on my phone most of the time now.

  77. Jason Baileys says:

Wow can’t afford to blow too many of those in a pennant race. How does Watson make a mistake on that pitch?

    1. Karen22 says:

NO – how does Watson WALK the leadoff batter?? Same for Wilson. That CANNOT happen!!

  78. Adam says:

Absurd to have both Nix and Martinez on the roster. Martinez at least has speed and the ability to play both INF and OF, but Nix offers nothing. No matter what, Tabata should be back on the 40, at least he did well PH’ing this season, and Nix off it. Brutal roster mgt by NH.

    1. Karen22 says:

HAHA, Adam! And now we have MOREL back up to join them! Charlie to the 15-day Convenience List! This is becoming a CIRCUS!!

    2. Patrick(ri) says:

Certainly would have a better shot at the plate with Tabata!

The rumor about him spending time at the casino seems a bit odd from a team whose every game opens with Rivers Casino “tips to win?” I’ve got one for them: recall a guy who can hit.
