Nice shorty. Their PK has been great all year.......even without Goc and Adams.

I hope the oilers don't get mcdavid. Edmonton is where the best talent in each draft goes to die

I saw McDavid score 4 goals and add 2 assists two weeks ago against a pretty good goalie. He really is a special player.

Hey DK. Consol announced that goal faster than you could update the top of the post! Couldn't resist!

Man another open net miss fro Kunitz he is struggling mightily right now.

3-12-2015, 8:11 pm

Lesson to be learned for down the stretch.

Less practicing = less fatigue, more jump, more goals.

PittFan412

3-12-2015, 8:16 pm

Man, how many goal posts has Crosby hit this season?

Sarah

3-12-2015, 8:29 pm

Oy, Scuderi....

Purple Moose

3-12-2015, 8:48 pm

I really hope that he is the one to sit when Ehroff returns.

Sarah

Nagahappa. Cole or DP, or even Erhoff.
Sadly.

Four goal leads are 33% more dangerous than three goal leads.

CoHutz208

3-12-2015, 9:09 pm

None have been Fluerys fault, and I believe Cole sits when Erhoff comes back

Purple Moose

Reason #63 why I can't take this team seriously.

Purple Moose

3-12-2015, 9:19 pm

Blowing big leads to bad teams and the fact that they have yet to win a game when trailing after two = something very important missing from this team.

I would say leadership but I don't want to be criticized by the Super Fans.

AJS

3-12-2015, 9:51 pm

Purple you wouldnt be getting any criticism from me. Leadership is a major missing link. Billy G. needs to take off the suit and strap on the pads again.

Last four games without Adams, 3 PPG against in 12 chances. 75%. Over the full season, that would rank 29th.

Last four with Adams? 2 in 15, 87%. Would be first in the league over a full season.

Remind me again how great the PK has been without him.

WhatThePuck?

3-12-2015, 9:21 pm

Statistics can be deceiving.

timberlandblues

3-12-2015, 9:23 pm

I think that may have less to do with Adams and more to do with the quality of competition over the last 4 games - tonight's sad collapse aside.

Purple Moose

3-12-2015, 9:23 pm

You can make stats prove any point you want to make. 12 power plays does not make a large enough sample for any conclusion.

alantig

3-12-2015, 9:31 pm

It's more than just the numbers. The PK with Adams has been much more composed. No scrambling, less frantic.

WhatThePuck?

3-12-2015, 9:36 pm

The problem is, as Moose has stated, it's a statistically small data set. When you then extrapolate that over an entire season you magnify the small set result. That makes it look like Adams alone -is- the difference between 28th in the league and 1st.

alantig

3-12-2015, 9:46 pm

Of course it's a small data set. And I'm not saying that Adams is the difference between 1st and 29th. But he's not a problem on the PK. And the PK has been better with him than without. Not just by the numbers.

Jay Baileys

3-12-2015, 9:29 pm

Good response by the Pens but they should have locked things down earlier

Purple Moose

3-12-2015, 9:30 pm

Crosby with another assist and beautiful pass from behind the goal line....................that's where he needs to be on the power play

PucknutZ

3-12-2015, 9:31 pm

Was that Sid down way low again settin that up?
Might just be a good spot for him on the PP... hmmm.

Wild Bill

3-12-2015, 9:36 pm

So the boys awoke from the deadly 4-0 coma just in time. Still two points, but wow.

4-0 coma... I like that description.
Better watch out, DK may borrow that one. lol

Too close for my tastes. Tough weekend ahead, better tighten up this ship.

Wild Bill

Count on it, WtP. It was a win and a wake up call at the same time.

Great hockey game. Sid scored a PP goal? What`s next, the plague of locusts? Although I don`t want to admit it, I think #14`s time with us is up. The Flower was The Flower; when will he realize he`s not Brodeur? Stay In the net!!!!

Random question. Coming to Pittsburgh for my first ever game at Consol. Haven't been in Pittsburgh for almost 20 years. Recommendations for restaurants etc would be appreciated. If this is inappropriate use of the comment section, please forgive me.

Tessaro's in Bloomfield (4601 Liberty Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15224).

Nothing fancy but you'll love the food, people and vibe. Then a hop, skip and a jump to Consol -- 10 minutes.

alantig

Fathead's on E. Carson St. on the South Side. Again, nothing fancy, big selection of sandwiches (huge) and beer, and great wings. Probably physically closer to the arena, but will take longer to get there because traffic on the way back will be worse.

Thanks for the tips. I want to get out and explore a bit after the Pens (hopefully) beat the Bruins.

On a different note, what is a good local hockey shop? Coming from NC, I would love to go to a great shop to check out some gear.

The Oilers comeback was Bylsma's fault, the Penguins finding a way to win was all Johnston and Tocchet.
