George Washington 60, Pitt 54

I'm a GW alumni... Easy decision - GO PITT

I picked the wrong night to hang my hat on the Pens, didn't I?

Nope. Pitt still doesn't play D and Newkirk can't dribble.

Entire team should be embarrassed. Look at your senior leader Cam Wright - guy doesn't wants be there.

Yea man. They checked out.

You beat me to it. Stunningly poor effort almost across the board. Never thought I would see a Dixon team play with such a lack of heart and a basketball IQ that might have been scored as a negative number. Very disappointed. The Narduzzi era begins on 9/5/15 though......

Dixon is gonna trim the roster I think. He needs a JUCO guard who can come in and defend. Among many other things.

Yes, and Artis played no defense & didn't block out. He gave up 3 consecutive offensive rebounds on foul shots because of that.

I would give Newkirk permission to transfer.

Artis needs some competition next year.

Hope some kind of shooting guard steps up next year. A true big man would help also.

Stuart

Usually don't see that from Artis. Complete lack of interest. This team didn't want to play in NIT.

I think they were checked out and ready to put this season behind them - Nwankwo was only one that deserves to be out there. Surprised Luther didn't get some PT. Cam would turn it over and not hustle back - if you turn it over you better be the first guy back there to make a stop.

Call me crazy, but I'm gonna go no steps farther and call this edition the worst Pitt basketball team of the millennium.

Here are your answers:
1. No. They had no interest.
2. Newkirk is a laser.
3, 8 for 18. What do you think.
4. They made many, but Nowankwo was the only one interested.
5. He was the best player on the Pitt team.
6. Do you mean when he played at TCU?
7. They were more interested.

Blaming that train wreck on Dixon takes a very high IQ. Coach K couldn't have won that one with the effort Pitt displayed. Jamie will have them in the big dance next year. There will be more than the two seniors subtracted from this team.

Stuart

Jamie likely will see the Young/Artis class through. He's earned enough credit to do that. But it should be said, there is no guarantee this team will improve on the 8-10 record in the ACC next year. The in conference home slate at the Pete will be one of the most challenging they have had in awhile. Away from the Pete they've been terrible. The roster has major issues and I'm not convinced Nix and Wilson will be ready to help day one. Expect some transfers too.

Firing Dixon is not an option. Don't be insane. They had a bad year. They didn't recruit well enough. No big men, slow point guard, no shooting guard. However, Pitt will be markedly better next year. They'll be a 7 seed in the tourney. I'll take your bet today.
Look a Florida. They were terrible this year. Should 2 time national champion coach Donavan be canned too?

Ehh, after seeing what the ACC brings back next year, I'd say they could be a bubble team again. Better wait and see what they have in Nix and what happens to the roster over the summer before you make a lot of bets.

Chaminade, Samford, Florida Gulf Coast, Niagra, Holy Cross, Duquesne

Some of the teams they beat nonconference were the dredges of the NCAA. Take away the ND upset and the UNC game where they shot out of their minds...

This could have been at lot worse. That awful non conference schedule probably disguises a .500 team. Maybe even sub .500.

Japan. Armed Forces classic.

I can't blame people for not wanting to drive into Oakland for an NIT game on one of the biggest drinking weeknights all year.

I think they resumed classes but they just came off Spring Break.

Pitt plays Akron today on the ballfield. :)

Please stop the "young team" narrative.

There are 7 ACC teams that are younger. All of whom beat Pitt, save UNC. Louisville and Syracuse are roughly the same age.
