Stars 2, Penguins 1

Let's go for more goals than temper tantrums tonight, eh???

Lets go Pens!

Hope the pens work as hard as I did. Just wrangled a bar TV to tune to hockey in chapel hill nc while Tar Heels play in ncaa tourney

Dallas gives up a ton of goals Pens need to put some biscuits in the basket.

Line shake ups tonight. Lets see if that does anything

I'm happy to be blacked out on GCL ... maybe the pens can win one this time?

Deep sigh, Kunitz on the top line. This team (and coach) puts me in a negative mood even before the game starts.

Adams has 2 shifts and 2 turnovers at the Stars blue line.

Maybe the Penguins just aren't that good

Wow a PP

Over/under on cross ice passes between the circles by 87 on this PP is 1.5

The Penguins make their passes like they are the only team on the ice. So many get picked off.

Did the pens even get possession in the offensive zone? The PP is horrible

So Letang is walking uncovered right down that slot and he is left with a decision, go high glove side or low stick side or perhaps five hole. Our pp quarterback decides a drop pass out of the zone would be the best option.

Pathetic PP. poor execution, decisions, confused exit of D zone. Have these guys played together before!?!?!

Best defense against Pens---Take a penalty.

Comeau is shooting the puck tonight about as hard as I would shoot it.

At least were being consistent on the PP.

Ok, so who will go after McKenzie tonight................somebody...................anybody?

Not watching game but will just toss in this morsel.

Pouliot needs to QB #1 PP unit. Doesn't happen this year, we can spend summer talking about how great our D will be NEXT year.

And waste another year of players in their prime.

Anyone have a copy of the official rule book? There *must* have been a printing error -- the entire section on "Interference" is missing.

I think the Pens power play is so bad even the refs don't want to see it.

Pens missing a big portion of team. Somebody tie 58 to the bench on PP.

If they keep having power plays I might be able to get the oil changed in my truck. I just go out and do it because I know nothing will happen for a couple minutes...

NHL officials have basically become UN monitors in a war zone, just stand there, doing nothing and file a report later. And no I don't think are are biased against the Pens, this benign officiating is ubiquitous.

"The good news is ... the Penguins haven't given up any goals tonight". -Bob Grove

Setting our sights high ... I see.

Can someone please explain to me after all the really bad power plays we've all had to endure this month, why, why why all we do is drop pass on the way into the zone? Forwards can't gain any speed into the zone b/c they never know when it's actually going to chipped in. Even when we have shot opportunities, we still opt for the pass (not counting Ehrhoff) My goodness is our power play pitiful. This effort against a below average PP defense in Dallas

Sutter refuses to shoot - Letang wide open up the center and makes a drop pass and Comeau shot has the zip of a tortoise - that first PP was as bad as it gets - this is the worst offense I have seen here in a very long time

Well Milk carton scored on his own goal

We in trouble now ... SMH

How does everyone feel about Jon Hynes?

Let the panic set in

Keystone cops....bad news bears... This team has nothing going for itself lately

Price of torches and pitchforks is spiking in the Pittsburgh area.

This team has stopped responding to HCMJ and it shows. They don't know what to do. They might get swept in the first round

No Geno and Hornqvist = no offense

all the wheels are now off and HCMJ has no clue and a Sens win puts them 7 points behind with a game in hand

Pens aren't even close to being competitive right now

When is the trade deadline?

Missed the first 4 min and down 2,!!!!! What the?????

Well Letang has obviously learned his lesson. Sit his ass on the bench for the rest of the game.

Does "accountability" not translate to French?

Letang cares not a wit what his coaches have to say.

Sens up 5-4 late

Wow!!! Mocking and berating the officials!!! This is shameful. Low point. Time to grow up maybe!!!

That's how you talk back Letang. Score a freakin goal. More of that please

Best hockey of the night now, come on boys!!

Liked Ehrhoff signing. Pouliot not in play back then.

Different circumstances now. Pouliot not manning top PP now, no sniff of even second round. Etch it.

Letang learns a lesson, shoot without looking at the goal!

Personally I would have had him sitting after his "show up the ref" act, but then we wouldn't have a goal.

Our team is made up from a lot of aging adolescents. Too many temper tantrums, too little concentration on winning hockey.

Stuart

Ottawa wins again to get to 81 points

Dan Bylsma never finished lower than 2nd in the conference during the regular season and the fans weren't happy. Sometimes, the grass isn't greener and, occasionally, the problem isn't the coach.

Jay said hockey is emotional game. Have to keep emotions in control. That's being kind. Pride and arrogance are attitudes. Maybe Johntson's experience coaching teenagers is what this team needs, hahahaha. Let's go boys.

Freakin Downie for slashing after the 2nd period ends. He adds NOTHING to the team, because he counters any good with his stupidity

That sequence on the Pens' bench was disturbing. Letang chirping at the refs, Johnston putting a hand on his shoulder in an effort to, you know -- coach him -- and Letang just ignores him.

Meanwhile, the team's captain sits in the middle of it all acting as if he sees and hears nothing.

So we are starting the 3rd on the PK, thanks to a Downie slash at the 20:00 mark of the second.

If attempted shots being blocked was a statistic kept in the NHL as an offensive stat, would Letang lead the league? I like to think he turns down shots because he knows this.

I've had enough of Downie he's going to hurt us in the playoffs

Mike Lange says "we have a 3-game losing streak on the line". Freudian slips all over the place .. this IS a business but you can't help catching little involuntary comments from those who've watched this team for years. This ship is rudderless and heading for the reef at flank speed.

Hahahaha poor guy lost an icing race to Scuds

Ehrhoff is having a great night!
#sarcasm. Lol

I've asked this a dozen times this year but HCMJ hasn't answered me yet but why does Kunitz start every single 4 on 4 situation this year?

Late effort but You can feel another ENG finish coming as all of those lost shoot out points may come back to haunt them

Does Sutter really think he's going to get a call there? What planet does he inhabit?

Scoring just 2 goals in 4 games has now created a risk of missing the playoffs. Sens play Leafs Saturday and have them twice more. Pens visit Ottawa in last week of the season. Be interesting to see if Pens have a response. If not they won't have to worry about a playoff failure.

No heart, no soul

Why can't we just play Edmonton every game? That way our poor boys won't have to work very hard and can score as many goals as they want.

Let's get 51 back up. Does the C have the heart and leadership to gain the room ?

Every goalie we face we make look like a Vezina finalist
Must the (lack of ) quality shots we put on (or near )net
A barrage of shots that any goalie can get a direct bead on

All year people have said the regular season doesn't matter because it's all about the playoffs. Well it matters now with only 7 points separating positions 5-9 in the East. If Ottawa continues their level of play, somebody in the pool of Pens, Wings, Caps and Bruins won't make it and the Pens are by far playing the worst hockey of that group.

I'm thinking that it might be best for the Pens to struggle to get into the playoffs, so they can feel the desperation that is associated with the chase. if they don't respond and miss the playoffs, then I think we are in for another interesting offseason that might involve the movement of some marquee players.

This is the year the Pens finally admit and understand they missed the opportunity to be the model franchise and win cups. Now no question the Pens need to unload the dead weight and retool with youth and speed.

Am I the only one that caught the blatant interference on just about every shift? Garage league

just sayin.... missing the playoffs is a real possibility

It's time.
It's time for Malkin & Sid on the same line for an entire game.
Mario had Jagr & ST. Ron.
Wayne had eight hall of famers.
It's time.
You want line combos.
Relax, I got'em.
Sid, Geno & a bag of hammers (Imean Kunitz) He's still got it.
Perron, Sutter, Horny
Comeau, Downie, Winnik (Yah I know no centers, but these guys weren't born wingers. They will figure it out.
Fourth line: Sorry, no talent left. If & when they have a lead, throw some bodies on the ice.
I always felt you needed 4 lines in the playoffs.
Sorry, it's not on this roster.
Let's Go Pens!!!

I don't think the sky is falling like many on here, but I do feel the need to toss in my sarcastic two cents:
1. Way to dig deep!
2. Way to assuage our fears and play a disciplined game!

Where's the leadership?

It's good to see the Pens in typical spring form. No composure at all.

Where the heck has Perron gone as well?

Post game comment by #58 talking about the star players can't do it all. From Yohe article in the Trib; “That doesn't help. But we have to get some secondary scoring from our other lines.”
Pointing fingers at officials and teamates. No mention of his taking responsibility for not shooting until after his tantrum.

I call this the Crosby disorder. Things don't go well... you focus on the injustices... forget to just shut up and go play hockey. Spreads to rest of team. Ottawa will catch the Pens and they will NOT be in the playoffs.
