Covering: NFL Draft, Rounds 4-7

You will hear me scream if they take Devin Gardner before the 7th. Especially after taking Coates...I'm thinking safety or TE in the fourth.

Moving up costs draft picks.

No kidding Bikeman.

I'd rather get 1 elite CB over what the Steelers drafted.
I would have given up a #3 to move up in 1st round.

Steelers need starters for defense not reserve players like the #2 and #3 selections.

Jarvis player at Alabama

Jarvis Jones actually played at Georgia...

I'd be okay with Olamu from Oregon too.

I'd like him and JaCory Sheppard too

We all agree on this one...lol. I like the Grant pick as well. You knew we were going to draft at least one OSU player.

Great pick!

I guess we're done with corner but I'd love it if we could get Ifo too. Wonder how far he will fall.

Because we have so few corners currently that he probably could be.

I think they both may be gone.

Don't see that lag, whom to? I might have missed it...

There will be a TE at some point. They talked to a ton. I'd be good with James.

Yeah, I'm just not sure where you would grab him. I think he will be a good pass catching TE in the NFL.

Heard they really liked Koyak from ND. Not sure if he's there or not...last year I liked Blanchflower. Wonder why they dont.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought they still like Branchflower. James reminds me of him. Neither will replace Heath by a long stretch but both could be serviceable backup NFL TEs in my opinion.

I've seen that analysis put on Grant as well from other outlets. Certainly versatile and can contribute on ST at least early on. Very smart ball player in Grant. If they're slotting him now for Dime and / or Safety now, then they should still go after Ifo in round 5

I would have loved Langford.

I agree. Good player, nice grab by the Bears.

I'm just not convinced Deangelo holds up.

Just need him to hold up for 3 games with 20 touches each game. He should be able to stay healthy the rest of the season spelling Bell if he can weather the first month of the season.

Hundly will ride the pines for quite a while like Rodgers did for Favre. Hundley is a very good QB who should learn a lot from AR.

I don't think Hundley is very good. Similar to Landry Jones a few years ago, Green Bay had other needs.

Exactly. Hundley is no Aaron Rodgers Not a great pick IMHO

Coates if he can solve his drop issues is pretty much a clone of Amri Cooper.

Just felt they could have got more of a need in the 3rd and picked a WR later. We'll see.

Love his name!

If Myron was still around he would have fun with it!

Thanks! I had a feeling. I like the Oregon CB too. I posted about him being their fourth round pick last night.

Might of been one of the top TEs next year. Not really fast and not a great blocker. But maybe they finally throwing to TE in red zone.

No kidding...lol. Good pick though..a beast of a TE.

Can't say I'm swayed much either way. It's a backup TE. If he does his job and Heath stays healthy, it'll be worth it.

Penn State grad and I felt james was more hype than effective. Caught some big passes but blocking is sketchy and I feel like he should have created more mismatches. Mybe just under utilized.

He has lots of potential, and room to grow into an NFL frame.

I was thinking the same thing, cmat.

That's what NFL Network is saying, for what it's worth.

If Coates returned kicks, I would have understood it more. I doubt it because of the drops.

Please take Ifo. Please please please.

Bummer

Yea, I hope that doesn't come back and bite them. In the 7th that's low risk, high reward.

I believe that only 45% of the 7th rounders am make an nfl roster.

Browns took him! Wow.

Mcshay called him a buffet tackler. Lol.

So did we. Keep the faith, brother!

I think they did a nice job. There weren't a lot of studs available, and aside from possibly trading up to try to get Waynes, there weren't many opportunities to do much of that either. Bottom line, the only way a draft can be truly judged is on the field, so all of our opinions are worth as much as the letters that we type to express them, that is to say, absolutely nothing.

Wasn't a golson fan either. But I like the theme of him and Holliman.

James at TE and Holliman at S are totally different from what they looked for at those positions in the passed. Not sure if that was intentional so I like it.
