One glimpse at the image above is all anyone needs to know that our newest creative partner will be our city’s iconic young photographer, Dave DiCello.
Dave’s love of Pittsburgh shows in every shot, and more than a few have moved me to deep emotions, especially on those occasions when I’m out of town for a while. Well, our site isn’t just for Pittsburghers living in Pittsburgh. It isn’t local in any way. It’s a global site, as I see it, for Pittsburghers around the world. And I hear from those subscribers — more than 40 percent of our total, per best estimates — daily about how much they miss home.
No one can bring that to you quite like Dave, whether it’s the skyline, sports, whatever.
Here’s a message from the man himself:
My name is Dave DiCello, and I’m just like many of you, a Pittsburgher. Born, raised and living in the greatest city in the country, I am proud to call the Steel City home and do my best to share the beauty of it nearly every day. As a photographer, I hope to evoke emotion and a sense of pride with every image that I capture, be it from Mount Washington, the North Shore, West End, or anywhere else. No matter the angle, I never get tired wandering around the city, always on the look out for that next great image, which in this city, isn’t hard to find!
Please join me, again, in welcoming two of our city’s brightest lights. Between Benstonium and Dave, we’ve added, in my view, the very best of what they do.
Our city, the skyline, the incline, in harmony with sunrise. Earlier this week. -- DAVE DiCELLO
