Kickoff: Riverhounds-Independence

I rode down to Charlotte, by myself, to see this game. I'm ready to fight the local supporters on my own.

Interesting to note that Charlotte now has acquired, in the last eight days, two goalkeepers who were with the Hounds last year.

Pittsburgh has picked up a Columbus Crew keeper on loan, which was desperately needed between Thompson's call up for the Jamaican team and other injuries.

This is a game where Pittsburgh is (on paper) the better team, but may struggle to prove it. A professional 90 minutes and the good guys should be able to travel back north with all the points, and feeling confident heading into Wednesday's Cup tie with DC.

Just watched a little of the action. Nice to be able to watch it right from this site. The announcers were talking about the goalkeeper who is playing for Jamaica. Good to have some recognition internationally.

What a sweet goal at the end of the half!

Wow...tremendous goal by Moloto at the end of a half that didn't look good for the visitors at the start. Steffens' decision to play Okiomah up front pays off with that delicate one-touch pass to Moloto.

I'd say fortunate to lead at the break with a couple of missed Charlotte chances to consider, but in the driver's seat now.

That one got away in a hurry. Pretty game effort to possess and generate chances with 10 men late, but more mistakes on the back line tonight. Six-game unbeaten streak ends...on to D.C. United on Wednesday.
