HURDLE NEEDS TO GO ... HE'LL NEVER GET A TEAM OVER THE HUMP!

Seriously, Polanco and Pedro Alvatross are in there against the lefty, and not the guy who kind of won you the game last night. I'm not much for conspiracies, but is Clint setting Pedro up to fail?

It's called giving him every opportunity to produce. Cough cough

Pedro Alvatross. Pretty good, Lumby. Did you get that from Clint? 😉

Chris Stewart will have both of them. Mark it down.

I would say 6-9....you're forgetting Pedro in the lineup vs a lefty.

Oh lord, 6-9 are they hitting off a tee? But, hey, Stewart is a pretty good contact guy

Over under on strikeouts 6-9 @8

Cole better have his A game

With Pedro in the mix I'm going to say OVER on the strikeouts. I wish I was making a joke. But even if we were betting actual money, I'd still prefer he hit 3 dingers.

It was in the column, Biz.

Thanks

LH pitcher. He will get a shot at a RH. With Cole on the mound, Clint wants best defense he can get. Not being used to defending the manager, that is as far as I can go in rationalizing this lineup. I do not agree it is insane.

Sean is worse than having the pitcher bat recently - play Travis

Dude has 1 big night and all the sudden he hoes from bum to must play. Ultimate level recency bias.

Lol. AJS, Milo yelled at me last night for saying the same thing.

I'm not a fan. Ride the hothand with Ishikawa. Showcase Pedro against a lefty. Either way, don't matter much to me.

The DK store should sell "I was yelled at by Milo and lived to tell the tale".

Should be interesting....

No RH options for RF, Decker lefty

I was wondering how this lineup would shake out once I saw a lefty starting

Yea, you're right JAL. Wonder what Necklips did to tick off Huntington and Hurdle? Call me intrigued.

Sawchik said awhile back they can eat Tabatas contract next year without swallowing all of it (I'm assuming paying those buyout years). I wonder if the fact they have to do that is tying NH hands on the amount of salary he can take on.

Not calling anyone cheap. More of a bottom line business thing. Maybe.

That would be after next year, they owe him $4.5 M next season, the 3 option years start with the 2017 season

Oh that's not as much as I thought. Maybe 6 or 7 to let him go? Thought it was closer to 9.

His days are numbered either way, sounds like.

He's still on restricted list? You don't cut him so you keep him away from other contenders too.

$4.5 M next season then 3 option year with $250 thousand buyouts so total cost is $5 M 250 K

Never mind, he played yesterday. Sorry.

Enjoy. And bring us a W

JRZ, here's hoping that your drive through the USA's beautiful breadbasket doesn't deliver you to a game that sends our Bucs careening toward the netherworld in a handbasket.

Interesting question!

I can go with that. He'll be in there for Rodriguez at some point tonight so I don't think it's worth huffing and puffing too much.

I think I've seen that in when Hurdle sits Kang and, early in 2014, when he sat Harrrison. I'd rather herd cats than manage super-competetive millionaires all of whom have cut-throat agents.

I'm no Pedro apologist, but if you look at the team leaders on the Pirates web site, his HR and RBI totals are 2'nd or 3'rd on an intermittently hitting-challenged team, even given his limited AB's.

He's not the guy Boras sold us, but offensively, he's not mud either.

Would you trade him for Ronny Cedeno?

It's an easy one today, with the lefty splits against Vargas DK indicated. And he's the DH.

It's Alvarez in the field that's frightening. Especially in Sept. Especially that last week in Sept.

Bpn8, yes.

The Royals and the Chiefs haven't shared a stadium since 1972. They have played in the same separate stadiums since 1973.

Aren't they next to each other?

Thanks, Milo. Got a Spacely's Space Sprockets kind of aura about them.

Yes, they are next to each other.

Royals Stadium is nice, .... once you get inside.

A major downside, IMO, is that it and Arrowhead are both placed right in the middle of giant parking lots in the middle of nowhere. No cityscapes, no local bars, no restaurants, and certainly no rivers or bridges nearby.

Not a knock on the place, but it makes one appreciate PNC. And Heinz, for that matter.

Agreed, DD. Have seen the overhead shots of the lots. Was speaking purely to the structure(s).

And even after 43 years, Arrowhead looks like it tops Heinz.

Right on, Milo.

Hurdle would say it was a planned rest day for Ishi.

Bucs could be showcasing Pedro to a team in need of a DH like the Angels so they could receive an extremely modest return in a swap. You know, a Frieri type.

Thinking about this, maybe the shock is SRod over Ishi.

@ bpn8pitt

yes

+1

Certainly looked downward plane to Wong.

Someone noticed!

Full disclosure: a career in TV has trained these eyes and ears. I can't help but be overly critical of your production skeelz.

I'm a fan of DK in part because he's so hands-on with media.

I've always been curious as to why YouTube was the choice for a pay-wall site. Not sure if there is additional revenue, but I've always like the quality of Vimeo.
