Not in the immediate future, but in the all time manner I am not sure. Hes career from my perspective was a lot of flashes of brilliance hindered by too many injuries. Looks like some unfinished job to me, like greatest potential that was left unfullfilled. And I feel that he didnt play great in the playoffs at all. There is no signature playoff moment from Polamalu, except for play against Colts that was overturned in first SB season. No James Harrison against Arizona, or Joey Porter against Colts, not to mention Steel curtain guys. In my opinion great player, but not a football legend because of so much lost time and opportunities to shine.

If you forgot his pick six against the Ravens, I really don't know what else to say except you missed a good one. I'm having a tough time seeing how a fan would not consider that a big play in a big game.

Yes I somehow forgot that one. Thank you for reminding me. Just to be clear, I love this guy, he's one of the best talents to play the game, there is just a feeling that he did half of what he was capable of. Mostly because of injuries. And I am sad because of it.

You're view may say more about your expectations of Troy than it does about his career. Did he miss tackles going for big hits, sometimes. He had injuries.

But he was consistently great and frequently brilliant. I mean jaw dropping, "How the $?&$ did he do that?"

I was lucky enough to have seats on the sideline when he jumped the line in Tennessee and at the home game vs SD (11-10) game where he had the one handed interception. Never forget those plays. All the Titans fans wear stunned. Well, to be fair they were stunned from the opening kickoff when A. Brown returned it for TD.

You are right, my expectations seem to be high above hof level for Troy. Great player, really a game changer. My oponion probably comes from how much I was traumatized every time he was injured, and treated that time as lost opportunity. I think having a more mobile and athletic strong side defender will leave a more healthy Mitchell playing with a bit more authority. He got left on an island fairly often. That's going to help this secondary quite a bit.

All depends on your market, but factoring in inflation today, tomorrow's dollar is worth more. Plus, we can prove that by the Steelers giving him a third round valuation by trading that round pick in 2014 for a fourth round pick in 2013, at least from the Browns' perspective. The Steelers making that deal is reconciling a more valuable pick next year for a lower one now.

an INVESTED dollar today is worth more than a dollar tomorrow, but $1 bill today is > $1 bill tomorrow. That was the point I was making about why you would always trade a 2013 4th rounder for a 2200 1st rounder. because of time value of money the 4th rounder today is worth more than a 4th rounder in 2016 so trading a 4th for a 3rd (plus one year) is probably not that disparate a trade. Not trying to Troll just think it wasn't that big of a gamble for the steelers to trade that 4th for a 3rd +1yr. again, not trying to distract from the article, the Shamarko stuff was terrific.

gwc is correct financially, though I might not agree completely with the draft pick valuation since, unlike options for spending, draft pools vary in strength of player available. The third round in 2016 could project to be stronger than the second round of 2017
