Alerts can't have anything to do with comments. It's WAY overloading the system for something that personal.

At least I was able to sideload the Android version, but it adds some interesting quirks to the app, and none of the notifications they are talking about show up. It's mostly fine though

I usually see a tweet from DK or JY then just app switch to the DK app and find the article. I have issue with app not refreshing with the pull down. Only thing that works is closing app completely and we launching.

that's an iPhone problem, not a DK problem. Never forget that Apple knows what's best for you

I didn't understand that last line. All our effort is focused on making -- and keeping -- the site wholly independent. You should be able to get what you want right here.

I get what he means. The Pens are terrible about this stuff. First it was the Twitter only contests, then they went to Snap Chat. Now, we have to watch stuff on Periscope. F that.

I appreciate that DK uses his own site for everything and only uses a ubiquitous service like YouTube for video content.

+1 on Marc's Pens comments. The Penguins have handled the technology side of things pretty horribly. The free wi-fi at the Civic Arena could be spotty, as you'd expect in a building built in the 1840s. Better in the new barn - but they discontinued after one year, and now you have to go to one of their sponsored spots in the building to get it. No thanks.

That move also killed YinzCam, which was very cool. Although on their wi-fi

On their wi-fi you couldn't get to NHL.com or some other external sites. Not good.

Why they don't put official game notes online is beyond me. I'm glad they will hand you a printed copy if you go to customer service, but I could just print them or look at them in my phone. The NHL used to have a subscription service for them, but that's no longer available.

The easier you make this stuff, the better and more useful it is. Witness this site.

Not accusing or saying any of this is your intention at all DK. Just generally commenting on what I have seen from some other sites & find annoying or less than useful. It's on my mind as I'm trying to ramp up the social media content for my company as well. Marc cited some examples of my last line & there are many many more out there both in & out of the realm of sports & more egregious . Not "asking" for any of the alert options, just throwing out ideas. Hey, I'm an idea man ;-)

YES. This sort of stuff destroyed - lliterally - a (former) wonderful site I frequented years ago. Many still mourn its loss. Can't happen here. Paying for great content AND civility.

Why don't you two just put an end to it and start all over.

Should be able to turn off comment priviliges based on username. Just post commenting rules and give only 1 warning.

If either of those two persists in addressing each other as they have, one or both will be gone, plain and simple. Paying for this site has nothing to do with commenting. The payment is for the content. Commenting can and has been revoked.

I'm all for a healthy debate but flame wars are so 90s.
