Final: Bills 43, Steelers 19

Jim, I thought Wallace played rather solid football in his starts at center in 2013. Injuries happen, at least TRY and give the backups a chance.

If the line looks even slightly porous.... send in Landry Jones. Cant risk Ben in mean nothing games. Even Vick. Keep him healthy. We might have a decent 1-2 QB duo once Vick gets at least a partial game plan down. Ben has been an Iron Man.... but it cant go on forever. Vick is good insurance.

when did Wallace start in 2013? that is the year we had to bring in Valesco off the street...literally

Wallace replaced Velasco final 3 games and performed well enough that they signed him & let Velasco go in free agency

yes and he looked AWESOME this game also...who cares about 2 seasons ago at this point and how he looked back then, it's a moot point...he got killed, and not even against Dareus...when you get called out on poor play by the female preseason NFL Network commentator, you are horrible...

You'll see starters most of the first half, Alan.

Blacked out in Warren, PA

Leaving aside the PR problems - I just don't understand the excitement over a 35 year old QB who couldn't get on the field with the Jets or the Eagles the last two years and who last had what might be called a good season in 2010.

There had to be better options out there. But he is now a Steeler and I sincerely hope 1. He doesn't ever need to get on the field this year. 2. Should he have to get on said field he does great!

you say, "there had to be better options" well, name one?

You can make a trade.

Kyle Orton is one that comes to mind without looking but I guarantee you that with some of the QB battles going on with teams like Buff there will be more options before the season starts that are much better options than Vick, who hasn't been even a decent QB since 2012.

Kyle Orton, that's hilarious...you must have wanted Rex Grossman also...

Please elaborate as to how Vick is better than Orton. Orton started 12 games for Buffalo last season and completed 64.2% of his passes for 3,018yds, 18td-10int while Vick in the last 2 years has thrown for 1,819yds, 8td-5int in 9 starts and couldn't even beat out Geno Smith for the starting job on a bad Jets team. Actually Vick hasn't had 3000+yds and 18tds since 2011 which was pretty much the last season he was a decent NFL QB but I know, it's the Steelers and everything they do is awesome so Vick rules.

well in his first game he missed one pass and led a drive to a TD...I will talk in the present, you can go look up more useless stats on Orton...

Have inside info do you?

Overreact much?

Wow. No. But I'll take 8-8.

I'll still take 11-5.

Don't see how anyone can say this team will have over 8 wins.

Normally I would agree about overreacting but when your defense makes EJ Maneul look like a Pro Bowl QB it's getting increasingly difficult to be optimistic about the season with their schedule.

it's not just EJ...each of their QBs did what they wanted to in the air...Tyrod Taylor ripped them up for Gods sake...he wasn't even average at VT

another Pit team who will not be able to stop anyone defensively...

not sure if Vick will see any action today...only 2 days of practice...

Gave you cup a coffee on that one Frye.

I guess I wasn't alone in my thinking!!

It made sense to me. Had enough losses on offense.

Looks like he just pulled a hammy. Rut Ro!
