Memo to the entire Pens squad:
.
When you see DK in the locker room tonight make sure you give him a proper FaceWash courtesy of Dom! And Jandy!
On a slightly more serious note, lots of talk about when is a good time to trade PM and for which top 6 forward. Way i see it, it’s best to trade him for picks/prospects sooner than later so you get as much of his 5M off the books. Then closer to deadline you can acquire better..
…caliber player making 7-8M for the season but with 2-3M or so left on contract. Additional picks/prospects would help. So if you really want a legit top 6 this is probably way to go. Maybe even with enough cap room for depth players and in the process young D get some TOI.
Only two games in and you’re talking trades, HM? Need to sit back, relax and just enjoy tonight’s game.
.
And keep all your posts Pens-related.
.
Which reminds me, wonder what Scuds’ opinion is on the QO to Russ Martin.
Ya, game tonight should be entertaining. Hope PM didnt read the post before game…More in response to what i heard on radio today and from dreger last night. Just thinking out loud n’at
Join me on the Pitt thread where I’ll discuss Steve Pederson’s opinion of the qualifying offer to Russell Martin. Not to mention what Tony Dorsett thinks of Jeff Bannister getting the Rangers job.
(Sorry, couldn’t resist.)
Ha, you caught that, didya?
Pot stirrer!
Milo = Trouble
.
Notice capital T.
My daddy was a green-eyed mountain jack, because I’m evil. My middle name is misery.
Pens, how about 3 quick goals so I can watch a little Pitt?
Stuart
Only one more to go, Stu.
Hubby has on Black Sabbath and Ozzy….I’m gonna steal away the clicker and switch it….really soon!!
New rule in evidence there.
That didn’t take long
Kunitz… PP Goal
Crosby… PP goal (Malkin, Hornqvist)
Fiddler In The Box. Playing off Broadway. Wayyyyy off Broadway.
PP is deadly
Kunitz (PP Goal)
LOL…don’t know what the magic potion is, Steigy? It’s called Pens screening the opposing goalie a whole lot more.
Kunitz (PP, Letang, Hornqvist)
Another PP wow
The Zach Sill thing still baffles me. We had all those jabrones here last year polluting the 3rd & 4th lines and we couldn’t find a spot for that guy ? Don’t get it.
Math club doesn’t approve of sill.
He’s no Tyler Kennedy, in fairness.
Uh . . . coach’s decision?
PK much better. Less chase in dzone and more pressure up ice in triangle formation instead of 3 players giving up blue line. But would like to see F1 smoke out puck carrier onto backhand side before they can setup breakout.
(Assist to Despres on the Crosby goal, not Hornqvist)
Speaking of pot stirrers.
Hockey God!!!!!
Gary Roberts looks like he could fill in — if ever needed.
.
Unbelievably fit.
It’s the Fiji water….
First thought was HCMJ probably feels like he died and went to heaven.
.
Second thought was players likely feel same way about HCMJ and already beat him there.
Priceless
Good job of the Pens getting it done on the PP!
Ya know, with Hornqvist always standing in front of the net like that my view of the puck is often obstructed.
.
Man, I remember the good old days — like last year –when I could see everything.
Yeah. You, me & the goaltender.
Remind you of anyone? Used to were 92 runs the PP now.
Yes, plus players with mindset.
.
Which reminds me of Inside Penguins Hockey episode where, in practice, Geno was telling Neal to get to the front of the net and Neal was saying no, you go. Playful? For sure, but telling as well.
Yeah…I long for the stretch passes.
haha! Wash your mouth out with soap!
Scoring so far: Crosby 4 (PP, Malkin, Kunitz), Kunitz 2 (PP, Letang, Hornqvist) and Roussel 2 (Unassisted). Pens lead, 2-1
Assists to Fiddler and Goligoski on the Roussel goal.
Man Scuderi is slow.
How many goals has be out there for this year?
No! No No NO No!
I know…I know!!!!
How is that not a penalty? Blatant crosscheck.
.
Ref has to be thinking, nope, can’t have too many PPs for Pens.
%#@&!
Was that Goligoski that crosschecked Dupuis?
So it was.
Duper is down. Looks serious. He was cross-checked from behind, fell forward and then hit on top of the left shoulder/neck by a shot. Immediately looked like he lost feeling in his hand. Taking him off in a stretcher.
Man hope Duper is ok
AARGH!
Goligowski better keep his head up. He can’t get away with that.
if he does, shame on us.
Sounds like downie time.
Yikes 3 on 1 and nada
That’s what I said!
Kunitz should have shot there it looked like
wow, too fancy on the 3 on 1
Same old story.
Duper cant win. Man. If he misses any amount of extended time it could really hurt. That said I just hope he is OK. Being hit in the back of the neck with a shot puck is some serious stuff.
yeah considering some shots have cracked the plexiglass boards in the past.
Hoping it’s just a stinger in his hands but yikes.
GoGo can’t be doing that
Could not have put that better myself.

Watching Jays breakdown of the Stars goal, Fleury really has struggled his whole career with a puck coming from behind the goal line. Although he didn’t get much help on the backside there.
Scuds hustles back into play from right circle and there’s no goal.
.
Was going to say glacier-like in his recovery but glaciers are moving faster than Scuds these days.
That WAS hustling.

Hope Goligoski is ok.
Bad giveaway
Imagine that Paul Martin another minus.
Son of a ….
Geno is playing poorly in these last 5 minutes.
Same Old Pens
Gave that one away
Three games
Would like to pin that on Scuds but can’t. All Fleury.
.
Sid out-hustled twice by Benn in last 2 minutes. In slot. On face-off.
Yeah, noticed both points. Was sitting here cussing out Flower.
Glad there are 79 more to go after that give away. Ugh!
Well. Got home in time to see that wonderful last five minutes. Should have stayed at work.
Malkin has to get better. He is is in his third game and just is not close to being a player who makes a big difference. Defense is Ok but the Stars just controlled the play the last 30 minutes of play. The Pens were just not able to generate good chances and get the third goal.
Liking all our chances on O. Keep getting those and we’ll be fine.
.
MCMJ sizing up his D-men, quite sure. Being patient here.
I’m betting Harrington gets in soon
Yeah, need some bigger bodies.
.
Benn backed his rump down into Ehrhoff low before his tying goal, moving Ehrhoff out of position.
.
Time to trust some younger blood on D.
The only good thing about this game is that I doubt very seriously they will be playing Moustache Boy or whiffle ball tomorrow.
Pushing nets, possibly.
Yeah, how we don’t get at least a point there is beyond me.
.
Re-watched last 4 minutes and saw a lot of guys looking for that easy one late. Less responsible decision-making with puck.
Where are we allowed to post about “other stuff”
Since the Boss hasn’t notified us yet….I’d say anything goes
Pens’ picks before Jamie Benn selected in 5th Round of 2007 Draft :
1. Angelo Esposito
2. Keven Veilleux
3. Casey-Pierro Zabotel
4. Luca (Brasi) Caputi
Threw middle name in No. 4 for AW.
Thanks, DJ.
