On location: Canucks 3, Penguins 0, final

I thought Greiss was in goal tonight??

Good to see Goc back in the lineup, he should get more minutes than Sill, Adams, and Ebbett.

As it turned out, looks like both teams gotta be happy with their choice of coaches. Of course, the Canucks players would have found Atilla the Hun to be a breath of fresh air.

Is Doumolin in??

Oy, Olli...

Well, I disagree with DK's tweet, Ehrhoff went behind the net thinking Maatta would get the puck to him, he didn't.

So, I see they decided to score tonight's goal early. Guess I can go to bed now.

2 posts?

The Canucks are playing MJs system pretty well.

Pens energy level hasn't been as good as it has to be. The effort can make up for the injuries to a degree. But Pens have to pick it up more. Yes Oli has not played to expectations but hopefully he gets back to form.

DK says Sid is doing some insane things with the puck. I'd call 2 goals in the last 17 games insane, sure.

Remember when the Pens scored a lot of goals? Those were fun times. Sigh.

We're saving them for the playoffs.

1.) DK, you're teasing us with that Friday Insider. For my own greedy personal sake, I hope its Pens related. 2.) Jeff Jimerson has the easiest job in the world. Seriously, what is with making the crowd sing the national anthem, it had its effect a few times, I could see it in the playoffs, but why every single home game? I don't get it.

P.s. Dumoulin doesn't look a bit out of place (and they threw him right in the top 4). Whether mgmt wants to see what they have in him so they can trade other defenseman, or they are showcasing him to other teams...good to see he's doing well. Still wondering why he leapfrogged Harrington who got the earlier call ups...strange.

we seem very.....slow tonight

So I trust the Pens have made plans to fly Ron Schock in for the big record breaker on Saturday. Shouldn't be a dry eye in the house.

Have we been short-handed this whole period? Sure seems like we've been.

I think Jeff Jimmerson worked up more of a sweat than Eddie Lack has tonight.

That was a predatory hit on Horny.

I can here the post game now, we got outworked, just didn't have the effort, couldn't generate any chances.

People paid money to watch this.

That was Fleutyesque behind the net by greiss there

Averaging one of these stink jobs about every 3 weeks, Phl at home, at Rangers, and this one.

Last 4 games 6 goals, not gonna win many if you can't score at least 2 goals.

Not able to watch so how does one go about scoring a short handed empty net goal AND have an assist on it? If the net was empty I assume another penalty was in the process of being called which means it would have to be an own goal and thus no assist. Either that or they pulled Greis to put an extra man on. With 4 minutes left in the second that seems unlikelym so confused.

I know this is indirectly trade related and DK will hate me for it...but Sid and Geno are doing some special things tonight, little things, but things only they can do. They simply have no support right now, no one to pass to, no one to open up space for them. Its frustrating.

Gotta say I'm impressed with Vancouver. We're shorthanded, but dang!

I guess when you put out four lines like the Penguins have tonight there will be nights like this.

this is one game that the Pens simply don;t have the firepower that they are used to. Haven't played well, but lets see if Pens battle through this period.of games shorthanded.

Vancouver has unique ability to have two forwards below our goal line on virtually every foray into our zone and yet not get odd man breaks in other direction.

We saw a glimpse of how we will be attacked in playoffs.

Heavy pressure on our D-men.

Oh Despres is injured now too? For pity's sake.

Grover on post game show says that this is the first time in 267 regular season games that Crosby has gone three straight games without a point. Last such instance was 5 straight games.
