Somewhat unusual for the Pens to be wearing the alternate sweaters on the road, isn't it?

Thought the same thing myself.
Gotta be about selling more sweaters.
Prolly a fair amount of Pgh. transplants in the Apple. Show em off.
They do look good.

Thanks for the info DK....and confirming my essentially correct guess that is about the merchandise.
Not really a surprise the Pens are up there in sales, Transplanted yinzers hang on to the Burgh teams.
I don't know what your numbers are as far as "out of market" subscribers but, I am betting the % is a bit higher than you would expect.
I think I read somewhere that the Steelers were up there also. (might have been in Forbes) LOL

Personally, I think it has more to do with the fact that the Pens employ Crosby & Malkin, that they are a contending team every yr, & maybe even a bit about them having had a universal fan icon like Mario as an all-time great than it is about transplanted Pittsburghers driving up national merchandise sales, Pucky. The Pens are simply the most popular team in the NHL for the average hockey fan right now, & they've been near the top in that regard quite often going back to Mario. JMO.

@ Jim S
Agree w/ya 100%
Was going to add the the additional points other than transplant but...
my "keyboarding" (typing in my day) skills are painful to watch and preform... so I just tired out. lol

I have no idea what interference is anymore.

I am not sure that I ever did know what it is. Must be whatever Sid just did. :)

Tough to win if you have to shut the other team out every game. It's going to be tough going, at least for awhile.

Well that was quick.

I'm taking credit for that, btw. I must have lit a fire! ;-)

I wish rangers would get fired up against the league like they do against the pens.

LOL Geno fist pumps soooo hard that the Pens score another.
Useless stat that I think I saw.... 4 out of the last 7 w/ NY ended in shootout.

12-8-2014, 9:28 pm

No coincidence we scored both from FRONT of net.

Too much perimeter play in 2nd Period and into 3rd

Well, got one point at least when it looked like zero.

Just need to get some of their guys healthy.

We will take it.

12-8-2014, 9:59 pm

So will we -- happily. Too thin tonight.

Rangers, since spring, now my most hated foe. Isles second and Flyers distant third.

Get the point with a depleted roster is a positive. Only Letang is due back this weekend. Maatta has to sit IMHO for a couple games. He is not paying well. Hopefully Bennett, Horn and Kuny can return in the next two weeks.

Well on the phone with Pops when the Rangers scored their third and thought our goose was cooked. Pumped to get two quick ones. Disappointed to lose in OT but given the roster and where they were in the third, it wasn't bad to escape with a point.

Randy in RVA.

On vacation until Sunday in Disney and just watched the game on the SLINGBOX. Pens D really left Fleury out to dry those 3 goals the Rangers scored were all on the D imo. Nice to get a point, but Fleury deserved better. It was nice to see the PP once also, maybe the Pens will draw penalties in 2015 cause it sure seems like they've reached their quota for 2014.

So much for "showcasing" Dumoulin.
