On location: Steelers 20, Chiefs 12, final

Go Steelers!!!

Here we go!

Keys to the game:

1) Dominate the point of attack / Win your war (Offensive Line and Defensive Line)
2) Utilize the run to set up the pass (more play action / less Pistol)
3) Win the battle of turnovers

Prediction: Steelers win 37-24!

Let's hope Pitt has some recruits there today (AD's, Coaches, and actual players). Wouldn't hurt to show off what a full stadium looks like.

Hopefully we see a loud playoff atmosphere there today. wish I could be their. Nothing better than meaningful games in December and hopefully January in the burgh.

Ok Troy is inactive. Will we ever see Shamarko play? I think he can make plays defensively. Especially against an offense that will be throwing short to RB's and TE's and running the ball.

Spaeth is a big loss. He really does a great job in the run game. Will Johnson will be in the mix more probably.

good start...

Shaping up as another game for Steelers and Pitt where a FG is a win for the defense

Gilbert is so bad--how do they play that guy??

Big time play by Blake on Bowe.

Man those refs must absolutely hate the Chiefs, making bogus calls against them. Fire that officiating crew!

It is one thing when your DBs aren't able to cover but is it too much to ask that they at least know how to wrap up and tackle a player that is right in front of them? WR screens going for 20+ yards again and again . . .

Shazier is struggling.

Defense is too inconsistent. Keeps going back to drafting. We don't have the secondary to keep up. And bad free agency (mitchell). Colbert is to blame

Great play by Timmons--Harrison is a beast today.

These guys are good athletes. You don't need to be a Pro Bowler to cover dink and dunk screens over and over again what the hell? And why would you not run a play or two before the half I don't get it.

I'm sorry how do you miss that leg whip refs?

Nice leg whip...that should be a targeting disqualification!

Would someone be so kind as to explain why refs allow some plays to proceed when defense if offsides but not others? I've never understood the inconsistency (except when defender has unimpeded path to QB).

If Tomlin wants to address penalties due to taunting, excessive celebrations, etc, he should learn to control his emotions on the sideline too. Act like you've been there before.

Crossing your arms is unsportsmanlike? This is an official hose job by the refs now. They should be fined heavily after the game and fired.

I thought NHL officiating was awful. This is beyond belief. Ben gets kneed, nothing called; Gay stand with arms folded and gets "taunting," result is 3 gift points to KC. Unreal.

Taunting? Quite obvious...the official was looking for something that wasn't there, but he called it anyway. When is this league going to start FIRING officials. That is the only way this nonsense is going to stop since there is definitely too much money involved in the line and betting on these contests. And, if Tomlin doesn't have the guts to say something about it, he is not protecting his players...regardless of what it costs him in fines.

Gay is a veteran and just leave it alone. Questionable call but never should have been an option. Tomlin protecting players really? Maybe he needs to coach them to STFU and get off the field.

Another dumb penalty. You're about to win the game. Don't rip someone's helmet off. Idiotic

So will Mike Tomlin get any credit for coaching the team to a playoff berth and potential division championship, especially considering the injuries on the defensive side?

Because there sure we're a lot of people blaming him for the team's "poor" record a few weeks ago, and calling for people to be fired.

I give him a lot of credit...and Haley too

So Smith has his first 300+ passing game of the season. Was it mostly trying to come from behind or what? Couldn't get the game here and just got home anyway.

Playoff berth and Ravens losing to Houston (anyone see Flacco's line??!!). Merry Christmas indeed!

There's been some kind of rift in the space-time continuum. I've watched this secondary get embarrassed and torched all year, lose to horrible teams like the Jets and Bucs, suffer unfathomably atrocious calls that directly lead to points against, and yet they're somehow, today, sitting at 10-5. Trying to grock it all...

If this defense continues to stiffen, the Steelers will be a tough out in January.

Good job by the entire coaching staff. Secondary kept them out of the end zone and the Haley bashers need to shut up once and forever. #1 offense in the NFL.

Maybe Tomlin can make a joke in the locker room about the Ravens losing, then blame it on the media. :-)

So what do we know about matchups? We have to win the Div to avoid NE in 1st Rd correct?
And to do that, we MUST beat the Bungles next week?
Even if they lose to DEN Monday?

Does anybody have the breakdown?

Is it me??
But this Steeler team does not feel/look/play like a team that won 10 games with 1 game to go.
Does this seriously look like the #1 (or top 3) offense in the NFL?
Has the NFL become that "equally matched"??

John Harbaugh - "get those microphones over hear" - "while we were getting our asses kicked by a practice squad QB our friends up in Pittsburgh were clinching a play off berth".

Sarah

under no circumstance will the Steelers play NE in 1st round 1 & 2 seeds get byes. If we win the div probably CIN in Pittsburgh since the 4 seed plays the 5 seed If we lose next week it's probably CIN IN Cincinnati with us as the 5 seed. So my guess is we are playing Cincinnati two weeks in a row somewhere. The Ravens gagging today really cleared up a lot, my take is we beat SD in CONF tie breaker hence no worse than 5 seed.

HERE - hate when a typo ruins a joke

Just saw that IND is laying an dinosaur sized egg against DAL so if we lose next week we will play in Indy.

If Cincy loses tomorrow, they could be in a situation of win division or go home. Chargers and Ravens will be 10-6 with wins next week.

Bad call on Gay. I can see why they called it though. At first instance it looked directed at the chiefs player.

Lonely libertarian and Sarah please don't comment unless you know our coaches name and our gm, Gilbert is an offensive lineman not our gm, and Mike Tomlin is our head coach not Tomlinson

I really don't care how many yards a QB throws for. If you can keep a team out of the end zone, it was a good day for the secondary!

You also butchered our playoff situation completely Sarah, don't think that was autocorrect.

Credit the Steelers for rising to the occasion. I am in the camp however this conference is terrible and the "parity" is a joke. Drew Brees carved them up and I suspect a quality QB will eventually have an opportunity to do that again. For the second game in a row, Bell was a non factor but Ben played well and made the throws he needed to. Cinci will have to bring it next week to win or go home. Should be interesting.
