Lightning 4, Penguins 3, final

MAF in net and not Z from WB? Bit surprised. Lange and Bourque were joking last night that Potvin told Billy G that he would have to suit up. It's really has almost reached that point.

Geez. Merry Christmas all.

Randy in RVA.

Farnham in?

So who's got the mumps today? ;)
Merry Christmas, all!!

Our lineup is quite frightening tonight. Just hoping we get out with no injuries. Anybody ever hear what happened to Paul Martin?

I get that we are facing some injuries and illnesses, but we still have the best player in hockey and another great player in Malkin. Isn't this the time for them to step up and lead? I keep hearing about all of our problems, we still have great hockey players suiting up each night.

The depleted line up is fading fast.
Young guns just don't have all the tools just yet.
Maybe put Zatts in, rest the Flower, try to get out of this one with no more casualties.

Was surprised they started Flower last night and did not rest him for tonight. Then I heard Zatkoff could not make connections in time for last night's game. So much for that.

Getting ugly now.

Team has character. In spades.

No quit which is good to see. Pens just so hampered with injuries and mumps and long term injuries to Dupuis and Maatta. But hopefully the new year brings health and better luck. Trade deadline should be interesting as by then the GM and coach will have a better grasp of what is a need and what is available and at what cost.

These guys play hard, down 4-0 they almost pulled it out. Geno and Crosby leading the way

Not one of his biggest fans (to put it mildly) but some nice observations by Rossi on Pouliot. And especially liked this from Johnston about the player while Johnston was still in Portland:

"What you want to be careful of is stifling his offense. You want him to make plays. That is something that benefits us here in Portland and will hopefully benefit the Penguins someday soon. Derrick was the eighth overall pick for a reason. What he can do with the puck is very rare. You wouldn't want to discourage that.”

Based upon what I've seen and heard from HCMJ so far, put a LOT of stock in his judgment.
