What a great win over a tough program and a good coach! Really hard to figure this team, but only a very hard-headed person wouldn't agree there's reason for optimism on the Bluff! Definitely don't root against Archie and the Flyers; hope this game doesn't hurt them too badly...

Big win but the Dukes most always beat the Flyers

Not exactly "most always…" This is a nice win!

• Duquesne, which lost 16 in a row to Dayton from 1997 through 2004, is 7-10 against the Flyers in the past 17 games.
• Last year, Duquesne led by 18 early in the second half before falling to the Flyers 57-54 at CONSOL Energy Center. DU shot 4-of-27 in scoring a Ferry Era low 15 second-half points in the loss.
• 2014-15 ended a two-year home-and-home haitus ... the two met just once in 2012-13 & 2013-14 (both Dayton wins) ... the two split the season series in the three seasons prior to 2012-13 ... UD won the first meeting this season, 81-55, at Dayton on Jan. 3.

Didn't see that one coming. Colter and Mason just juniors. A reason for optimism.

Tough loss for Dayton. They looked a bit tired after playing St Joes Thursday night but no excuses, Dukes came to play.
