News/views: Pedro has hyperextended elbow

Probably immensely better than Mercer... (Just Kidding)

Wow JAL...your time stamp is in the future...what are the mid-day PA lottery numbers? I will split the winnings with you... :-)

I would upvote this if I could.

Would you like some popcorn too?

Hey man, injuries happen when you show up to camp out of shape. Everyone knows that beard is just a reuse to cover up 10 extra pounds.

Seriously though, gonna be a fun spring...

Lol...Pedro Alvarez. The Hillary Clinton of the PBC. Always something.

;)

Perhaps some of that Barry Bonds-like elbow armor would prevent any future injury (and increase the OBP if he's willing to stick that over the plate).

Yeah, question a guy faking an injury. Real solid.

Doesn't matter what he "wants," even if you're right. The Pirates are not going to let him go for a bag of balls, which is what his value is now. It's Petey's year to prove his worth. Big bucks are on the table and he knows it. I hope he heals quickly...for everyone's sake.

Hey Zito not questioning his injury numb nuts

Oh boy, "numb nuts" is getting thrown around. Stuff's gettin' real.

I'm assuming you're talking to me, and made an errant typo. Either way, the report was on an injury, and your succinct comment was "He wants out of here imo". It was fair to question your comment, however if you were making an independent statement, then I apologize. I still disagree though.

Little in minors to replace them? Walker's replacements will be Alen Hanson and/or Kang. As much as everyone (me included) would love to see Walker stay here for his Pirates career, it's not smart money to extend a guy (with the money he will command) who will be in his 30s with a history of back issues.

Josh Bell is going to be the 1st baseman of the future here to replace Pedro.

I agree Matt that we have players in the minors to replace what's here. But what are we going to do in 2024 to replace those players?

2024? I'm worried about 2030.

Im with you AJS...i actually think the fact Hart is already hurt bothers me a little more than Pedro. Cervelli, Walker...I actually think Kang will wear down later on in the year, because the Asian leagues are shorter with more days off.

Pirates are a good team, but health can derail anybody.

Lambo's flexibility? You're kidding right? He may not even make the team or stay on it for long. That's why they kept him and not Snider? LOL!

And Kang started everyday in Korea. He won't be doing that here and I don't see him wearing out.

@bpn

With the obvious disclaimer about one week of ST stats out of the way, starting off 1 for 13 after last spring's disaster sure can't be helping Lambo un-pucker himself, eh?

Not even sure it matters, for what it's worth. Sending him back to AAA, if he even has an option, certainly isn't going to prove anything. Kid has to step up and hit the damn ball.

Oh, I was just agreeing with AJS on Lambo being able to play first given the situation. That, and the several million still owed to Tabata sealed Sniders fate. Given NH had a taker.

I'm trying to be positive about Plan C on 1st today, man. Lol

Dejan mentioned it in passing but its worth noting. Hart already having lower body problems two weeks in is bad IMO.

Everything else im still just in wait and see mode. Pedro included.

I hope you're joking, BPN. Lower body problems? He cut his gd foot. I'm guessing his knee had nothing to do with it. ;-)

I don't care if he stubbed his toe. Hart's always had issues staying healthy.
