Pirates 10, Brewers 2

the pirates saw what happened to Marte's growth as a hitter when they hit him at front of the batting order, during spring training the pirates said they were not going to hit Polanco near the top because they wanted him to relax and develop his hitting without the pressure of hitting near the top, now Hurdle has completely changed his approach with Polanco WHY

Pirates Lineup:
1. Gregory Polanco (L) RF
2. Jordy Mercer (R) SS
3. Andrew McCutchen (R) CF
4. Neil Walker (S) 2B
5. Starling Marte (R) LF
6. Pedro Alvarez (L) 1B
7. Jung Ho Kang (R) 3B
8. Tony Sanchez (R) C
9. Casey Sadler (R) P

Hope Cutch is not back too soon. No way he gets thrown out when 100%.

I was a Sadkler fan until he got to Mlb. Hopeful for better today.

I thought JHay was taking the day off today...

Nice first inning by Sadler...

Interesting that Gong Show is playing two straight games.
So glad that McCutch back in line-up. That was a concern.
Got through the rotation exactly once before needing an extra starter.
Thank goodness for the Convenience List for Charlie.
Morton is so injured that he has not taken one day off since end of Spring Training.
Pirates different team without Harrison in Leadoff.
Let's hope Lohse throws like last time out.
Bucs could use a breather.

Home Opener tomorrow!!!

All winter long, all spring long, the focus was on the start. How this start had to be better than the previous two years. How slow starts had cost them division titles in each. We heard this from fans and media alike. But most importantly it came directly from the team. Management, upper and middle, and the players themselves. So if this early season malaise continues the last thing I want to hear from any of them is that it really doesn't matter. That it's early. That there is plenty of time left. Talk is real cheap. The real winners say it and then back it up.

Buccos plate approach right now is just flat out putrid. Either that or they better check to see termites haven't chewed holes in bats.

Tv is deceptive, but it looks like Sadler has nice movement on his pitches. I guess we will see the second time through.

Jordy doesn't get enough credit for his defense...

6 games in and they're already using their #7 starter. Best laid plans I guess.

Single, sacrifice, 2 out RBI. Who would a think it?

I was afraid that lobbing it up there underhand wasn't going to cut it against this lineup.

Is it just me, or is it normal to want Carlos Gomez hit with a pitch his next AB after a HR??

K, K, K, K, sigh....

I believe Starling is on pace for 200 Ks this season.....so much for carrying over from spring training.

Wow. Not sure if its the beard or what but Pedro looks about 15lbs heavier. Doing his best to resemble Prince Fielder

Good for Tony. Hes come a long way. Looks good at the plate and not bad behind it Good depth option for C

Gomez is a chump

Two good ABs for Polanco today....hopefully he is getting ready to go on a tear.

Im not a hitting coach but good things happen when you take a slowballer the other way.

That's the way to take easy on your knee!

Seems like Cutch hits a lot of home runs at Miller Park. And most of to right and center.

Does anyone else get the feeling that the new procedure for challenging calls is designed to pretty much eliminate them ?

Very nice job by Sadler today.

Snider just drilled a 3 run HR to left field. Sure hope Lambo can get going.

Hats off to Sadler. Nice job after all that time driving.

Come on pen, protect the lead.

Chris Stewart who??? Sanchez making a strong case to stay on the 25 man roster.

Impressed with Kang's approach at the plate today. He was robbed a couple times by ARam...

I'd prefer letting the pitcher bunt here and saving the pinch hitter for later.

Some poor approaches at the dish that inning

Caminero can definitely bring it, but control has always been his biggest issue..

Very nice piece of hitting by Pedro....

Pirates when they finish off this w today will be 9-8 in their last 17 games at Miller Park. Time to rest the "house of horrors" meme.

FINALLY!! Offense is waking up just in time for facing the Tigers.....

Neil with the Donn Clendenon, Bobby Bonilla, Kevin Young special.

Looks like the Bullpen will hold this one. Shows you what a sweet swing like Walker has can do, goosing it over the wall.

Wow....I think Marte needs a couple days off.

And good news in Cincy. Cards take 4-2 lead.

RAISE IT!!!

Wonder, do you go for the feet or the neck when chasing geese out of your back yard? A shotgun is probably best when the folks from PETA arrive.

The ONLY thing that would have made that win more satisfying to watch would have been being at Miller Park today. I would love to be walking out of there right now.

Managers and head coaches lie and play "situation ethics" on personnel
and line up matters.

Hurdle is just winging; you'll see Kang at leadoff one of these days.

Marte is missing the ball by a foot.

Bring back Lunchbox.
