I believe Milwaukee is 2-7, Dejan... it just seems like they are 7-1 every time they play the Bucs.

I do not like McCutch batting Clean-up.
Last two games he has only gotten 3 ABs each in the 3 hole because each game Tigers faced only 29 batters. Do not like dropping him even further.

#4 got the same number of at bats.

So did #8 but I would not drop McCutch there either.

I liked Clemente #3 —— I liked Parker #3 —— I liked Van Slyke #3 —— I like McCutch #3. (I did NOT like Jim Morrison #3.) Don't mess!!

Might be another low-scoring contest. Hoping Worley outperforms Nelson.

The Pirates can't hit let alone score. I'm quite surprised by the lousy start they are off to.
Why is Walker getting a 'maintenance' day? They were just off yesterday. That makes no sense unless Walker is injured which I guess the Pirates are going the way of the Penguins when it comes to injury. Upper or lower body?

Clint has a history of trying to get guys 2 days. He also has a history of getting his subs work. You may be right, but not really out of the ordinary on the surface.

Sean Rodriguez is a nice player. Much better than our Korean superstar. He should get more time

Wow, Chris Stewart will clearly solve the offensive woes.

Just when you start to think that Opie Huntington is making smart moves, they send down Tony Sanchez in favor of Jabronie Stewart. Boneheaded move. Plain and simple.

The primary task for Pirate catchers is to handle the pitching staff with aplomb. Stewart is better at that than Tony Sanchez.

Sanchez just smiles better.

Weak start again. Three routine grounders. Nice smooth 7 pitch inning. When was the last time we took a walk?

I don't think its ever going to be a team that draws a lot of walks.

You guys realize this is a 162 game season right? The Brewers were on fire this time last year, and finished third in the division. Everyone needs to calm down, in my opinion.

The Pirates themselves from management on down preached all winter and through the spring of the importance of starting fast. And how they weren't going to let yet another slow start cost them the division. People are just holding them to the standard they themselves set.

You are absolutely correct Milo....the standard is the standard. Apparently the Buccos still haven't seen enough of Jimmy Nelson to make the adequate adjustments. They make this guy look like Cy Young.

I appreciate what you're saying, and they need to catch fire. I'm just suggesting that it will take time, because we don't have a segment of data to judge this team yet. Sean Casey was back in town for an event and I heard him say, it takes about 30 games to judge a team. The rotation has to pitch 5 or 6 times, people get in their grooves, then we'll know.

He did that bonehead call but very few, if any, batters complaining about him. He has been very consistent on balls, strikes.

the saying goes HRs are "thrown more than they are hit"... Exhibit A, a 92 MPH pitch right in the 'meat-zone' from Johnny B allows Marte to look really good. nice swing and good for Starling to be ready to hit there.... but thanks Johnny.

For all the talk about slow starts, and it IS relevant, last year Bucs were 6-3 after 9 games. I'll reserve my judgment on the start this season until the end of April. It was the 4-15 stretch much of it without Russell Martin that doomed the start...hopefully no such stretch in store.

That was a very satisfying win. Worley pitched well, defense held up their end, offense finally showed up. That is was the Brewers on the short end just makes it that much sweeter.
