Final: Riverhounds 2, Kickers 1

Headed down to the stadium pub for the watch party, in case any subscribers are doing the same. :-)

Beautiful day here in Richmond. Should be a great night of soccer.

Watched this whole match on YouTube and ... man, am I the only one who doesn't get all the love for Thompson? I just never have that feel that he's in control in the box.

Thompson looked OK to me. Not polished by any stretch but working hard. Took some hits from RVA and hung in. Mid field play left me cold, not much being created. Defense scrambled a lot

This team... I can't figure them out. They grab two quick goals and control the first half, only to look lost for the last 45 minutes.
I'm fine with winning ugly, especially on the road. However, we're nine league matches into the season and I still don't know what team we're watching.
With all that said, they go 1-1-1 in what appears to be the toughest stretch of the schedule. Certainly better than what we would have seen in past seasons.

Very odd game...Hounds looked dominant in the first half, both in possession and offensive aggression. But they kept giving the ball up cheaply in the second half, which allowed Richmond to serve ball after ball into the penalty area.

Kept waiting for a pushback in the second half but it really wasn't there, at least until the final 10 when they did a nice job playing keepaway near the corner flag.

Not the prettiest, but Thompson did what he had to do to preserve the three points.
