James Shields is 6-0 hmmmmmm

Which version of Liriano will show up tonight?

Yeah, Shields is 6-0 but his ERA is around four and a half

Cubs lost 8-4 to Royals. If the Pirates win, they are in second place.

lol

One name missing because he is pitching against the Braves the day before the Pirates-Giants series starts

Yea no Baumgartner is not a bad thing

Hey DK any chance of a DK Sports meet up when you're in SF?

Should be a good matchup tonight. Hopefully the Bucco's can break out the boom sticks again.

Anyone know how Clayton Richard pitched tonight?

Why not Kang at short and Harrison at third tonite ??????

Thanks for sharing that photo. I never saw that angle. Cool.

Tim Hudson is still in the league?

No MadBum? What a shame.

Unless he's hurt, there's no reason to sit a hitter as hot as Josh Harrison.

Frankie is locked in tonight.

That Parrott shirt is hideous.

BEAUTIFUL bunt.

Safe

The Cardinals are like the Patriots... Every year they just find a way to win.

A couple craptacular at bats by the 3 and 4 hitters.

Where the shortstop has been standing for 100 years.

Beautiful AB by Petey....

I think Kang would be better at 3rd. No answer for SS.

At least this streak has closed ground on the cubs and the wc.

Bolts beat the Rangers

Liriano with 72 pitches

CLINT?

Shouldn't let Barmes beat you.

Very nice Frankie...

I was trying to avoid the hockey score, had it on tape. My Rangers out of Nhl and Rockets done in Nba, all Mlb until cfb.

All this mixing and matching regarding bullpens drives me nuts at times.

Shields is crafty. I had no idea he was this type of pitcher. Don't catch much American League (years past) and SD action. Everything was moving and at tough to square up angles.

Did I hear right? This is game 26 for Hughes?

Hughes should be removed from the game right now.

dumb play ... uses the glove he is out easy ... Wehner towing the company HOMER LINE ... criticize please!

Hughes stinks tonight..

Awful pitching by Hughes. No control and just grooved a pitch that a scrub hitter just drilled.

How about the hook? Hughes clearly doesn't have it tonight.

Nice job Hughes--blow a great pitching performance

Too late. Lirano's great effort wasted.

Poor Frankie! ... Hurdle screws him again! ... 96 pitches??

Liriano must be ticked.

Am I the only one who thinks that the Pirates had a shot to nail Gyorko on the relay there? Didn't even attempt a throw.

Ok, even after 7. Hidden vigorish in close games,

Wow. Caminero. Nice job.

Nice job by Pedro, nice job by Caminero....

C'mon Bucs!

Sweet!!

Thank God Kemp is LAZY!

So much for those hot bats....

Come on Scahill...geezzz

Well, that could be the ballgame

Again....sloppy, sloppy baseball.

Hope Scahill can avoid his second unintentional walk!

5 man IF, but Polanco out....ouch.

Come on Cervelli...you HAVE to go to third!

Great play Jordy!!

Pedro HAS to come up with that ... standing there in foul ground ... feet close together ... Bad throw but a major league first baseman makes that catch!

Crap

Nice job Scahill....

Just waiting for the "brain trust" to tell us how this loss is directly attributable to poor defense by Pedro and Kang.

You know.....those "experts" who base their comments on the "eye test".....and not measurable facts.

Most embarrassing bullpen performance of the year. Dont even know how those guys even look in Lirianos general direction after that debacle. Helluva way to end the streak.

Hidden vigorish strikes again . . . for Morris, of all people.

Pirates were Hurdled by the 22-26 Padres!

Mr. Golden Sombrero. Pirates batters basically mailed it in last 4-5 innings. Was there even solid contact by anybody during thay time. Too bad that review at home was mailed in by MLB. Third run would have made difference.

Glad Jordy got his reps tonight instead of J Hay...

Why is Bastardo on this team? Waste

How can anyone blame Hurdle for this loss? He didn't use Bastardo. Hughes has been nails, Scahill strong. You're gonna have crappy outings. What hurts the most is the Cards continue to win even with major injury issues. Gotta make up ground and that is difficult when you're trying to make up for a whole month of bad play.

Pirates have won only one game when scoring 2 runs or less all year (2-1 in Arizona). Cards have won 5. Tonight was a prime example that you need to find a way to win low scoring games to compete for a division title. You can't count on scoring 4 runs or more to get a W.

It's Pedro's fault for not hitting a 5 run homer. Better trade him for a bag of baseballs.

7 of the Pirates' 23 losses have been walkoffs while Pirates have zero. Big reason they are 7 back.
