They have their work cut out for them

I hate doing something else on a night when the Cup can be presented. Fortunately, there are Chicago writers here in the press box, and the Pirates did them the courtesy of switching one of our monitors to the game.

Like you've said DK you serve the readers. They want the Bucos. Not many of us still following hockey, but that's ok.

I'd say I don't think it will be presented tonight but, that would be a lie. Tampa Bay's best shot to win in 7 was to take game 5.

Also, one scoring chance total in the first 8.5 minutes.

Meant to reply to my own comment. I'm all thumbs on this phone.

Feel bad for Stamkos. He may have to live with this series a long time.

He just missed on a breakaway a minute into the 2nd. He's not the only star who's been a noshow. Patty Kane hasn't done much this series.

Anthem was deafening. But the Keith goal was even louder!

I think the white sox must have been thinking about the cup as well because they sure werent focused on baseball! Blackhawks looked stellar

Pens really went for it twice in 08 and 09 and got one. They have been chasing it since and I think loyalty to certain players lead to bad deals and lack of creativity. Injuries have been a huge factor! You see the Hawks without 3 of 4 top D men? You see Hawks without Toews or Kane or Sharp or Keith? Hell no! The Pens need to stick with the youthful D men thru the regular season and for god sake clean up the top six and 3rd line! Cut the cords on bad deals and move on. Sid and Geno are still great but they need help! Fleury proved capable. The organIzation needs to quit whining about refs early next year and they might get a call or two by February. Use the data like the Pirates do and they can do it. Try it old school and we will be watching Hawks4. That is my rant, thank you.

Crazy thing is they've got much more in their pipeline.

Also saw that they are big competition to land Mike Reilly.

3 cups in 6 years by the Hawks sure puts the Shero regime into perspective!

6-16-2015, 8:28 am

Read in PG today GMJR said no buyouts planned for Pens.

Seriously? Can that even be true for Scuds or is that just window dressing to try to unload him (dump him) in some trade?

Yea DK just fielded that one in the 10 Q's. If this is true, its beyond disappointing. How in the world they think Scuds and Kunitz are going to be any good is beyond me. Maybe Shero wants them back.

Tampa almost filled the arena last night...beyond cool! For those saying they don't do it right in Florida, well, a near sellout for an away game should kill that thought.
If only the Pens would trade Malkin we could watch this at Consol. (sarcasm)

Tried to attach a picture from the arena last night, harder than I thought. It was quite a seen.
