A look at the week ahead on the site …
Monday: The week opens, as always, with a photo gallery from Dave DiCello. Josh Yohe fills us in on one prime free-agent target of the Penguins. I’ll post the video podcast from last night’s KDKA-TV ‘Sports Showdown,’ on which I was a panelist. At 5 p.m., Josh will appear on Penguins 24/7 Radio with Brian Metzer.
Tuesday: The Tuesday 10 Qs get published at 9 a.m. Josh will begin reporting from Detroit on the Pirates-Tigers series that opens this night at Comerica Park.

Wednesday: Morning Java is up bright and early. The NHL’s free agency goes into full swing at noon, and we’ll double-team this throughout the day and night in the same format we used for the draft, which readers really seemed to like. At 5:30 p.m., I’ll make my weekly visit to the 105.9 the X studios for a segment with Mark Madden. At night, Josh will cover Pirates-Tigers.
Thursday: The new weekly analytical feature by Matt Gajtka will be up first thing. Yohe will wrap up Pirates-Tigers with a matinee in Detroit.
Friday: Friday Insider goes up a tick after midnight. At 5 p.m., I’m on 970 ESPN with David Todd. At night, I’ve got the opening of Pirates-Indians at PNC Park.
Saturday: More Pirates-Indians for me in the afternoon. At night, Matt Gajtka will cover the Riverhounds’ playoff-relevant match with New York at Highmark Stadium.
Sunday: Gajtka changes rivers to wrap up Pirates-Indians.
As always, expect news, videos, podcasts and other surprises along the way.
