For what it's worth, DK, I think you were right about Walker's play risking injury, but I also agree that it's not something a guy like Neal takes into account in a split-second decision to dive for a ball. Either way, you have GOT to love the kind of dedication and never-say-die attitude that play brought.
Suggestions? Wife got tickets to game on Jul 25th for Father`s Day. Same weekend as our anniversary. looking for advice for me and the wife morning and day of the game, after party/nightlife after the game, and Sunday morning before heading out of the burgh? I moved away from Pittsburgh 23 years ago. Reply here or DM me on twitter.
One moment that comes back to me as a signature moment is Kang's triple Friday night, with his atypical yet still somewhat understated flourish at the end (I keep playing it back!); and then, amidst my repeated playbacks last (Saturday) night: Cervelli's game-tying hit, when the crowd, simultaneously seeing the HIT, and that the game was TIED (!!!)(unbelievably!), let loose with an unforgettable ROAR...these are the moments that make me watch baseball (which are--normally--few and far in between), as I have done (Pirates 99%) since the days of the greatest game ever pitched (the Kitten, 1959) and Elroy 17-0 (again, 1959--when I was nine years old)...
Well worth the wait..
