A look at the week ahead on the site …

Monday: We open with our weekly Dave DiCello photo gallery, which henceforth will be called DiCello’s Point of View and sponsored by Point Park University. (Get it?) Neal Coolong will have our Steelers PATs first thing in the morning. By daylight, I’ll cover Pat Narduzzi’s first game-week press conference before Pitt football opens, then pick up Steelers right across the hall. At 2 p.m., Josh Yohe will have Good Dudes. At 5 p.m., Matt Gajtka will take your Five Qs at 5 on a new day to better suit his baseball schedule.

Tuesday: I’m headed out to Milwaukee for a week on the road covering the Pirates. I’ll begin by writing from Miller Park that afternoon. Neal will have the Mike Tomlin press conference, the Steelers’ first big cutdown day, coverage of practice and Five Qs. This also will be the day we begin covering Penn State and West Virginia football, with correspondents Connor Whooley and Nicole Curtin reporting from State College and Morgantown, respectively, on the James Franklin and Dana Holgorsen press conferences.

Wednesday: Morning Java, with Matt and Neal, will go up bright and early. I’ve got more ball from Miller Park, as well as my weekly appearance on 105.9 the X at 5:30 p.m. Alan Saunders covers Pitt’s practice, and Connor has Penn State’s practice. (West Virginia doesn’t open its practices.) Josh has Five Qs.

Thursday: A new Matt’s Stats gets us going. Neal has Steelers-Panthers in the preseason finale at Heinz Field. Josh has as well as a 3:30 p.m. appearance on 105.9 the X and a 5 p.m. appearance on 970 ESPN. I’ve got the Five Qs and the final ballgame from Milwaukee.

Friday: I’ve got Insider, up a tick after midnight. At sunrise, I fly back to St. Louis for the Pirates’ potentially seismic series with the Cardinals. At 5 p.m., I’m on 970 ESPN. At the same time, my second set of Five Qs gets posted.

Saturday: Neal will cover the Steelers as they finally begin formal preparations for New England. Josh has Narduzzi’s debut as Pitt takes on Youngstown State at Heinz Field. In Philadelphia, Connor has Penn State at Temple. In Morgantown, Nicole has West Virginia hosting Georgia Southern. At Highmark Stadium, the Riverhounds battle for their playoff lives vs. Charleston, and Matt will be there. I’ll still be in St. Louis.

Big day, huh?

Sunday: Neal has Steelers, I finish up in St. Louis with the nighttime finale between the Pirates and Cardinals, and then fly home.
