Looks like Twitter is talking about Jose Tabata being taken out of the game with Indy. #HugWatch
Probably hurt his left big toe walking out a ground ball.
Maybe Flabata is going to the Bosox, Lucky
We can only hope, Gunner.
http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/07/jon-lester-rumors-tuesday.html
Tabata mentioned as a “wild card” in the discussions.
Wonder if Tabata is going to be included in a package for Lester. Rumor has Bucs in play for him.
Ken rosenthal saus sox want 2 of bucs top 10 prospects including bell.
Well, that certainly kills that, huh?
Hopefully, brother plan, hopefully. They can pull some people from AAA rather than giving away the store. Getting Lester doesn’t assure a playoff spot, although last year Byrd sure made an impact as a rental.
Reverend, rentals are generally bad news. Lester would not make the Bucs WS favorites, so the return shouldn’t be too much.
But I won’t be irascible and say “stinks”.
Two top prospects for a two month rental, sorry, just say no
I still think getting Lester is a long shot.
I agree. Plus, it would be smarter to go after a reliever.
Pirates Lineup:
1. Josh Harrison (R) 3B
2. Gregory Polanco (L) RF
3. Andrew McCutchen (R) CF
4. Neil Walker (S) 2B
5. Russell Martin (R) C
6. Ike Davis (L) 1B
7. Travis Snider (L) LF
8. Jordy Mercer (R) SS
9. Francisco Liriano (L) P
Giants Lineup:
1. Hunter Pence (R) RF
2. Gregor Blanco (L) CF
3. Buster Posey (R) 1B
4. Pablo Sandoval (S) 3B
5. Michael Morse (R) LF
6. Andrew Susac (R) C
7. Dan Uggla (R) 2B
8. Brandon Crawford (L) SS
9. Tim Hudson (R) P
Bell should be off the table like Polanco purportedly was last year.
So, legendary Pauley Pavilion currently being flooded by a massive waterline breach at UCLA. You hired Alford, UCLA. That’s what happens when you dance with the devil. Karma, Bruins, Karma.
Dont hold back, Oshie.
I’m grumpy tonight. Where’s that cat ?
HA!
My dog chased him on his walk earlier. Funny thing is, I thought I saw Alford also.
They just rebuilt that place too. I was there in 73, ohio u lost to walton 110-63.
FWIW
Pirates want Lester before 7 PM tomorrow – see link
http://mlb.mlblogs.com/2014/07…
These west coast games are too late for me to watch. I must be gettin old.
Yup, even for us retired, sleep till the dogs want to get up folks
Watching a little of the Brewers game. I seriously think the loudest I have ever heard the crowd at dreadful Tropicana Field was when the boos rained down on Ryan Braun. Good to hear.
As I duck, you gotta keep Pedro in the lineup
I’m can see Convenience List possibilities for Pedro and Guy Frieri.
I can see where JHay is an option at 3rd, but I’m not impressed with Morel at all. So far he is a career minor leaguer
If the Pirates make a deal for Lester, it will have to occur before his start tomorrow so he can take his next turn for Pittsburgh, reports MLB.com’s Tom Singer. The Bucs are not willing to part with prospects Tyler Glasnow, Nick Kingham, Jameson Taillon, Josh Bell, or Austin Meadows in a deal. But the team would consider dealing Alen Hanson or JaCoby Jones, and Singer says that third baseman Jose Tabata is a “wild card” in discussions, which could potentially expand to include Mike Carp or one of several Boston relievers.
Per MLB Trade Rumors
And of course as this reports Tabby as a 3rd baseman, well there goes the credibility of that one
If they can get Lester for one of Hansen or jones plus boston takes tabata? Yes please. And hurry.
I’ll never believe Huntington has the stomach for a big move like this until I see it. My fear is that the Brewers or Cardinals will end up with Lester and/or Price, and we’ll get a middling reliever & Neal telling us how comfortable he is with what we have.
NH does not have the track record, thats for sure, always “Tomorrow”. Lets see what he does. IMO we still have too many holes to give up a top prospect for two months
Rays taking Brewers apart in the 8th. 3-1 and not over yet.
With Brewers lost tonight – we can move to within one game of the division lead. Go get em tonight Bucs!
I like this report if Tom’s right. I could see a Lester/Carp/Miller swap for, say, Hanson, Tabby, Gomez, Lambo and a couple AA/AAA types. Also, keep in mind the three-way swap idea with the Bucs landing Gregorius.
No way
No carp please. Throw him back.
This just in: Harrison is fun.
Good start.
Let’s Go Bucs!
Just enjoy!
Getting the lead early bodes well for the Bucs. They typically win these.
Just saw a tweet that Lester has been scratched from his start for tomorrow.
Both Lester and Tabata on #hugwatch tonight. Coincidence?
Harrison. Three games is a row now right? Crazy.
JHay can play!
Pedro, it was nice knowing you.
Yeah, lets give up on a guy that was tied for most homers in the NL last season
Honestly, that is goof ball stuff
Thank you Biz!
Snider starting to heat up with the HR swing
How many bloggers have been dissing Lunchbox?
Easier to count the ones who have not. Got to hand it to him for keeping at it, even when we all thought he was done. Maybe we finally caught a break?
He’s doing good, say an 0 for 8 streak, folks will be back. I just mentioned that due to the dissing of Pedro
Snider is a beast! #FreeTravis!!!
Joel Sherman says Lester has not been traded. Sox scratched his start to avoid possible injury in case it happens at deadline
Which probably means he just got traded.
This might be a good night to have to be up all night long for work to watch the trade mill spin.
Hello from section 310 at AT&T. Lunchies shot was a laser. He’s up to 8hrs now right? Really coming into his own.
Get us another win. Have a great time.
One day you are good, one day you are bad, sounds like life.
With dogs, you are always good
Would that be you? Or the dogs?
The dogs are always happy to see me, even if I am 0 for the month
But, I gotta feed them
Vin Scully will return in 2015 for his 66th season calling Dodgers baseball.
That is pretty amazing, he started in 48?
1950 in Brooklyn with Red Barber.
1950. This is his 65th season.
This reminds me of how laughable it was when the Pirates announced that Lanny “retired”. It’s not exactly a job you voluntarily retire from.
Looks like Ray Liotta is using shellac for make-up on those liquor ads.
Rumor has it that Pedro was inquiring about the availability of the giant glove in AT&T Park.
Birthday gift for Gaby.
Wow, Uggla has made 3plays in a row!
Sucks. And I really mean that. Awful.
Rumor has it Pedro inquiring on availability of the giant glove at AT&T Park.
Birthday gift to Gaby.
It’s not big enough.
26 feet high by 32 feet wide might be good for one or two “ice cream cone” catches.
Anybody else having problems with MLB.tv tonight?
No Bell, Kingham, Meadows, Taillon or Glasnow in a trade for Lester?
Plus unloading Tabby to boot?
NH pulls it off and he’s got my vote for GM of the year.
And if Cherington is still drinking, we might as well toss in Frieri as well?
Everyone gone to bed?
Im still here. Wandering out near the right field splash seats. Frankie impressive. Giants fans fatalistic about their offense.
Double barrel in the Bucs pen. Short leash for Frankie.
That or everyone is checking their favorite MLB trade sites.
Still hanging in. Thankful for a day game tomorrow.
Not a lot to talk about this moment. Classic pirates games, early runs then snooze-fest….
Let’s hope walking the AAA catcher doesn’t bite.
Thank God for Uggla. Rotten.
Hard to believe he makes millions.
Hughes and Wilson’s work us done. Nice bullpen session for both.
Liriano lowers his ERA to 3.97.
No surprise. 44 warming up in the pen. Just tossed one to cutch.
Can we just ban bullpens on the field? Put them in the tunnel if you have to.
Nice outing by Frankie. Him returning to 2013 form would be the best deadline deal possible.
Relief!
Hey Cmat, are there no signs out there? Root cameras seem to be lost.
Snattering of Bucs fans but less than in other parks.
I guess my “throw it here Pedro” sign is out of place with him on the bench.
Giants 8th inning song is again “don’t stop believing”. I guess journey didn’t make one called “don’t sign danuggla”.
Wow. Michael Martinez in for defense???? He ran that like a pass pattern with Big Ben scrambling. Scary. Or as wehner says “schhhary”
What happened ? I was cleaning gum from under the bleachers on center field?
BIG 4-6-3 there ensuring Posey isn’t the tying run.
Everything alright ? I just let the dogs out.
So it’s YOU all these years everyone’s been singing about.
Funny, I was skimming the pool.
Padres lead cards 2-1 in the 7th.
The very fresh marky mark strolls on from the pen. Getting posey is key.
TN depth perception scare there.
From rf it looked like a weak fly out
Call was alarming.
Another advantage if being here. No neverett to ruin the ambiance.
What depth perception ?
Deep breaths. Marks got this
If nothing else Susac and uggla next hitters up.
Cannot let this get away. Everything’s lining up.
Ishi?????
From right field at AT&T RAISE it.
The Pirates are 7-2 in California this season.
RAISE IT! Love me some late nite Bucn!!
Can’t believe discarded ex-Pirate was last chance for Giants to tie game, but dude K’d. No ex-Pirate factor jinx.
Sucks.
One of the best things was seeing Cutch drill that double. Need that more than the redhead needs her Wendy’s heart-stopper.
Just in time for him to use Chase Field as his personal extra base hit parade.
Gotta love games less than 3hours. The giants clean up crew , hundreds of seagulls, sure do appreciate it.
Man, you’re right about the seagulls. Say hi to Tippi Hedren on the way out.
Massive post-game bird invasion always interesting.
