  1. Milo Hamilton says:

Well Mr’s Tomlin & Colbert, take a good long look at your handy work. Not a pretty picture.

    1. cherokee23 says:

This is where my thoughts lead me, also. These are their players, for better or worse. If it ain’t the players, then have to question whether coaches are putting them in position to succeed. Either way, something is rotten

  2. TRabold207 says:

    Only decent LB is down

  3. James D says:

These Steelers are awful. 8-8 would be a major accomplishment with this talent and coaching staff.

  4. aglebagel says:

    Wow, Timmons

  5. mwehrle27 says:

    Ole’ fashion beat down.

  6. aaron says:

13 points off steelers turnovers…. Would make it a 13-6 game. The offense has been extremely inept and in all honesty, the defense kept this from being a 30+ point margin.

    1. mwehrle27 says:

The defense has had 2 stops. They haven’t done anything.

      1. aaron says:

Exactly…and the offense did even less…which explains the 20 point loss. It was pathetic all around.

  7. DJ says:

    Yawn.
    .
Guess we turned a page to Newer Comments.
    .
Will be turning page to NHL season soon.

  8. mwehrle27 says:

6 drives of over 50 yards for the Ravens.

  9. Reading says:

Post game: “Obviously, this is all part of a master plan with the singular focus of bringing a championship back to Pittsburgh.”

  10. Cberry88 says:

A total gutless performance from the Steelers tonight.
    .
Before the game everyone talks about the previous dozen Stillers-Ravens games being decided by 3 or less points. That this game wouldn’t be any different. That the rivalry is still the same.
    .
    This rivalry isn’t the same.

    1. Cberry88 says:

      (con’t)
The Steelers aren’t the same. We have been on a downward trend since losing the SB against GB.
      .
We have stuck with the same players and some of the same coaches for too long. We have become complacent and unable to adapt.

      1. Cberry88 says:

As a younger Pittsburgher who has been as much as a Bucco’s diehard as a Stiller’s diehard, it is devastating to see.
        .
I can’t predict anything after just two Steelers game.
        .
Though after the last two Steeler’s seasons and their first two games…I’m very concerned.

  11. Reading says:

“Obviously, I would like to have seen more checkdowns, dumpoffs, swing passes, and safety valves from the offense. Obviously. And, obviously.”

  12. mwehrle27 says:

What is there left to say about this game?

  13. aglebagel says:

    Lol

  14. theplanisworking says:

At draft time, I said the Steelers blew it. Shazier wouldn’t be a factor, the secondary needed help.
I want to take that back …………. the entire D needs help.
    And the O.
    And the coaches.
    .
I thought the penalties always reflected the coaches. Nah. Obviously.

  15. DJ says:

We both meant 5 -11, right?

  16. aglebagel says:

I think this game may turn out to be the beginning of the end for Colbert/Tomlin. It’s pretty clear now that this is going to be year 3 of non-playoff football, and for the Steelers, that’s unacceptable.

    1. aglebagel says:

We needed the offense to step it up this year to mask this young D, and it isn’t happening.

      1. IronWicki says:

Me thinks Haley needs to go…NOW

    2. DJ says:

      2009: Zero (1-7)
      .
2010: Thaddeus Gibson (4), Chris Scott (5), Crezdon Butler (5)
      .
2011: Curtis Brown (3), Chris Carter (5), Keith Williams (6), Baron Batch (7)
      .
      2012: Mike Adams (2), Alameda Ta’amu (4), Chris Rainey (5)
      .
      2013: Landry Jones (4), Terry Hawthorne (5)

  17. defil21 says:

The Steelers should never play the Ravens on Sept 11th. Both times blowouts. This Defense sucks and the Offensive tone was set with the first drive. 8 plus minutes and Justin Brown fumbles. PATHETIC.

  18. Steelkings says:

    11 and 5 DK…..Would you like a mulligan?

    1. Dom says:

I said 9-7 and would like a mulligan.

  19. Dom says:

Anyone know when was the last time the Steelers had an interception? Felt like ages.

  20. Ragpicker says:

Nice win by the Bucs tonight. Didn’t watch much of the Steelers pre-season game. Still can’t believe how much the refs call pre-season like flag football. Can’t wait for the real Steelers to start back playing real, regular season football.

    Any idea when?

    1. Ragpicker says:

      Cue Snoop….

  21. mwehrle27 says:

Its one game. Everyone can have one bad game. But man, that was a really really really bad game.

    1. Dom says:

      You’re missing one more really.

  22. zidanesdagger says:

    It’s pretty simple:
Defense that doesn’t generate a pass rush
    +
Defense that doesn’t turn the ball over
    +
Defense that takes too many stupid penalties
    +
Offense that can’t finish in the red zone
    =
Many, many more losses in 2014

  23. zidanesdagger says:

And well, since when did Kevin Colbert turn into Daniel Snyder?

Those contracts to Mike Mitchell and Cortez Allen remind me of the ones given to Derek “Operation Shutdown” Bell by the Pirates

    Overpaid and underdelivered.

  24. Florida Steeler says:

Ok–Tomlin apologists–this team STINKS and it is the team that he and Colbert have put together.
Promote Munchak tomorrow. Shazier is absolutely awful.

    1. mwehrle27 says:

Shazier lead the team in tackles. What are you on?

      1. Florida Steeler says:

Can’t cover a tight end to save himself and I question leading the team in tackles. He is awful.

    2. akenna431 says:

lol Shazier just played his second NFL game ever and is playing better than most of the vets out there. Shazier is going to be a player in this D, just not this year…too many holes. D line is too bad and corners are too bad.

      1. Florida Steeler says:
        -1

Not better than Mosely and it is his first year. His coverage is awful.

    3. Jason Baileys says:

Dude it’s his 2nd game, put down the crack pipe

      1. Florida Steeler says:

I don’t care how many games he has played. Did you watch Larry Foote the other night? No reason to start this kid now. His tackling consists of attempting to throw people to the ground or pushing them out of bounds. He is constantly out of position on the 3-4 .

  25. ron.difrango says:

Can we fire LeBeau and Haley now?

  26. Jessica Canelos says:

Defense soft offense inept coaching horrible. Should we keep going?

  27. chethejet says:

Art Rooney at some point has to question the management of Colbert and Tomlins ability to put a roster together. Another year of up and down games. Tomlin signed through 2016 I think. Will the Steelers eat 12 million of Tomlins contract? I doubt it.

    1. ron.difrango says:

How about Rooney Jr picking of Haley?

  28. mwehrle27 says:

186 last week for the browns 156 for the ravens. over 330 yards in the first 2 games for the defense.

If you can’t stop either the run or the pass, you have games like tonight.

    1. ron.difrango says:

How about his own hand picking of Haley?

  29. DJ says:

Wonder if Munchak can play right tackle.

  30. Cberry88 says:

I miss the Steelers defense of years gone by that would terrorize the QB. This would create a serious effect on the opposing passing game. End result would be a hurried QB and an INT
    .
Lebeau either does not have capable players OR the league has adapted to him.

  31. Mean Joe says:

There is no one left on the Steelers defense that anyone has to account for. The old guys are too old and ineffective, and the younger ones simply aren’t very good. Jarvis Jones is Huey Richardson with better hair. Time to move on.

  32. DJ says:

Ben’s gotta start stepping up against better teams or we’re going nowhere.

    1. DJ says:

He wants the freedom of no huddle then he needs to shoulder the criticisms of play calling.
      .
When things go right, not all Ben. And when things go wrong, not all Haley.

  33. AJS says:

What an awful performance. Defense sucks. Play calling sucks. Down 3 scores with 8 to play and you are calling pop passes screens and check downs.

I dont know if it is no talent poor coaching or both but this is ugly. Two 8-8 seasons will be followed up with another stinker.

  34. AJS says:
    -1

But hey Tomlin is a great coach. He won a super bowl with Bill Cowhers team. Yaya Cowher missed the playoffs the year before with the same guys. But he had completely checked out.

Blow it all up. Start over.

  35. Stephen Dotts says:

Defense is the problem. It has been the last 2 years. The issue is Dick Lebeau: he runs a 3-4 defense, which as everyone knows inherently complex. The last 3 years, we’ve seen a speed revolution in offense (See Pats, Eagles, etc.). Time to go 4-3, an inherently simpler scheme.

  36. Stephen Dotts says:

With faster Offenses mean less time to plan on D in between huddles, which means a simpler scheme is necessary. I don’t think Lebeau, the 80 year old guy, is the man to lead the defensive revolution. He’s gotten his pick of the draft for how long now? Transition to simple!!!
