  1. David says:

Season debut for that Fleury guy, eh? Wonder if he’s any good…

    ;)

Actually, Rinne’s GP stats look off, too.

  2. Dave G says:

Need 60 minutes of non-stop effort tonight. Aggressive ’til the final horn.

  3. GreenEggs says:

Think only 1 goal from a defenseman so far. Seems odd given the new emphasis on defensemen joining the rush doesn’t it?

    1. Senor_Moneyshot says:

      2 Martin and Maatta

    2. DJ says:

Well, Letang would actually need to hit the net first.

  4. DormontyDawson says:

How about a nice, solid Saturday night road win!

Didn’t know Preds were undefeated, BTW.

    1. Dodkong says:

Technically unbeaten in regulation. They have 2 OT/SO losses.

  5. Jason Baileys says:

    Let’s go Pens!

  6. DormontyDawson says:

    Crosby strikes.

  7. Jason Baileys says:

    There u go!

  8. Jason Baileys says:

Pens are back checking really good. Hopefully they are starting to play this system now. Good road game so far!

  9. Jason Baileys says:

Close one at the end of the period there

  10. Biz says:

Its a nice night, temperature wise, door is open, kids are playing, I hear a “He shoots and scores”.

    Mike Lange ;-)

  11. Dom says:

Why does it say that tonight is fleury’s debut

  12. DJ says:

More I see of Spaling, more I like him.
    .
Good at puck possession. Solid skills. Nothing fancy, just a solid player.

  13. DJ says:

    Playing responsibly. Keep it going.

  14. Jason Baileys says:

2 great road periods, now can they play a 3rd?

    1. DJ says:

      Don’t jinx us, JB.

  15. Sarah says:

My lord NSH plays some boring hockey….

    1. DJ says:

They’ve got some nice young talent with Jones and Forsberg. A good team once Fisher returns, not world beaters but solid.

  16. DJ says:

Uh oh, the dreaded 2 goal lead.

    1. DJ says:

Uh oh, the dreaded 3 goal lead.
      .
No lead safe until horn sounds.

      1. Sarah says:

Lets gnus just simply arse on the PP. Nice to see Sid take over….crazy pass,
        And Dupes!?

        1. DJ says:

          Huh? Lets gnus?

        2. DormontyDawson says:

“Lets gnus just simply arse the PP.”
          …
Not often you see gnus and arse mentioned on a sports thread. Reminds me of the Canterbury Tales.
          …
And I always thought the Fighting Gnus would be a good sports team nickname.

        3. DJ says:

Oh, Letang. Little understanding how to be effective on O.

      2. DormontyDawson says:

Dreaded 4 goal lead would be nice.

  17. theplanisworking says:

Where was this effort the other night?
    .
    This is a good sign.
    Really good sign.
    .
    :)

    1. Sarah says:

No punk behavior from our stars either. Refreshing!

      1. theplanisworking says:

        Indeed Sarah!
        .
For all we hear about Sid/Geno being the “2 best in the World”, they lose their minds a lot.
        .
Maybe playing on the road forces more concentration, hence better behavior/results?

        1. DJ says:

Both Sid and Geno VERY responsible tonight.
          .
Let’s do away with morning skate rest of season.

        2. Sarah says:

Maybe that dry-land workout had an effect lol!
          “Craig, send’em!”

  18. Jason Baileys says:

Best game of the year Nashville looks uninterested

  19. Sarah says:

I’ve been channel surfing a bit….how has NEal looked? In saw him spring Forsburg w a nice pass in the second….in the box for our 3rd goal….did he just hit the post?

    1. DJ says:

Ping off post sounded like sub sonar.
      .
      Rocket wrister.

      1. Sarah says:

Is there a better release in the NHL? Sick.

        1. DormontyDawson says:
          -1

I like the return we got for him, but I still wish the Real deal were on the team.

        2. DJ says:

Ship sailed. Hornqvist battles end to end. Not Neal.
          .
What was shocking today was his interview with Pompeani where he said HE was shocked and he never had chance to meet new administration. Must have thought NONE of it was on him. Clueless.

  20. Jason Baileys says:

Wow I’m guessing that’s what MJ had in mind.

    1. DJ says:

Yes, but little moving in packs. That said, played responsibly and got the W. All that matters.

      1. Jay Baileys says:

I thought their back checking was awesome all night.

        1. DJ says:

Yes it was. Their “packs” were on D.
          .
          Swarming.

  21. camchuck says:

Pens put on a clinic on the road…absolutely shut down the last undefeated team…great answer to last couple of games…

  22. DJ says:

Sid’s pass to Geno a laser. Geno nonchalantly bladed it into net.
    .
Elite players whistling happy tune on walk through park.

  23. DJ says:

One quality love about HCMJ is ability to very thoughtfully dissect team’s play spontaneously.
No post-game triteness or needing to watch tape.

    1. Sarah says:

      Or need to pause 30 secs/gaze into space/drink water/gaze into space….

MJ is, as the reporters are saying , “much easier to transcribe” lol!

  24. Jim S. says:

Was at a movie, so I missed it. Sounds like I missed a great game. Nice bounce back. 2 PP goals. Sid with 3 pts. Flower with a SO. I’ll take it.

  25. Adam says:

This is what real coaching looks like. The problems with blowing leads the last couple of games are corrected right away.

Still don’t like Martin-Erhoff pair, but Erhoff at least seems to be improving.

No need to bash Neal, he’d do fine in HCMJ’s system.

  26. jlawson17 says:

Lots of work left to do, but everyone has to be happy with a shutout on the road against an undefeated (in regulation) team.
