  1. The wolf says:

Kudos all around to the O. But did LeBeau leave Allen exposed to show management why he should be cut tomorrow? Or because he really doesn’t get that this guy can’t cover?

    1. Jim S. says:

If LeBeau didn’t want him on the field, he would have been sitting IMO. I don’t see him even getting extended w/o at least some input from LeBeau. He’s been the #1 defensive mind in the org for many yrs.

      1. The wolf says:

Well then it’s a mystery. LeBeaus been around too long to not be able to see this guy’s a disaster.

        1. Jim S. says:

That’s a good point, Wolf. But, the alternative is them making a mistake like this w/o even consulting their HOF DC. I have a hard time believing that.

        2. DJ says:

All about timing — and bad timing at that. Drafting one CB this year and cutting him in camp forced them to roll dice on Allen. Weren’t going to go into 2015 draft needing 2 CBs. Unfortunately, rolled snake eyes with Allen.

      2. DJ says:

Impression is that things going decently and LeBeau thought: “Hey, what better time to give the kid some confidence?” Bad timing.
        .
By all rights, he should be first player ever to sign $24 + mill contract and get cut same year. But Steelers won’t want that ignominy.

        1. Jim S. says:

They are going to need the cap space, though. If he doesn’t improve dramatically, I think he’s gone. If he truly is the worst (or close to it) CB in the NFL there’s no reason not to cut him. Nowhere to go but up.

        2. DJ says:

Have no idea what cap hit will be, Jim, but cannot imagine it all comes off books. Their decision will undoubtedly be influenced by that.
          .
If you know, let us know. Not a cap guru.

        3. Jim S. says:

I don’t have the details of his contract committed to memory either, DJ. Maybe he will stay on the team next yr. I thought someone mentioned they could part ways w/o too much $ pain. But, either way, I think his days as a starter here are now over.

  2. king of rock says:

Was anyone else peeved at that Big Ben naked boot right (or whatever) to END THE GAME? That has to be the STUPIDEST play call at that time with your franchise qb for no reason EVER. I sure HOPE that was Ben’s adrenalin making that call, and not Haley?!! (double yoy)

  3. Jay Baileys says:

I really think it’s important to remember that AB extended his made up record of 5 catches and 50 yards. Seriously Ben and O line were unreal. D was good and bad. Anyone else think Ben was wanting to send a message with E. Sanders having a big night and being critical of Ben.

  4. mwehrle27 says:

Finally a game where Ben could show the world how good of a QB he really is.

  5. Milo Hamilton says:

It was a shame to see Antonio Brown’s streak of 1 game with a TD pass & 3 yards passing end.

  6. William Maloni says:

Same Steeler Church, different pew. Does anyone know if Bell has to serve a two game suspension “this year?”
