Last team to lose game 6 on the road and win game 7 was the 75 Reds.
Kc will win!!! Remember you heard it here first
I say we call it a draw, declare the title vacant & move on with the rest of our lives.
Let the World Series winner determine which league has home field advantage in next year’s All Star Game.
Wow… Oshie for Commish!
Great line, Osh.
Good one, OshKosh!
Go Giants.
And just to tie up loose ends, the Royals lose on a horrific blown call. I know that’s harder than it was in 1985, but Jerry Meals is the replay umpire after all. I see the potential for a colossal cluster mess. A guy can hope can’t he ?
Game 7 already – that means about 5 days we can dream of Martin staying a Pirate and 5 days for the Pirates to start their excuse machine for why he isn’t
I’m rooting for the Royals
Bumgarner with six perfect innings of relief a la Pedro Martinez. Giants come from behind victory.
I’ve decided I don’t like Eric Hosmer. Too much empty jock like Roethlisberger.
Lot of Royals are annoying, starting with their manager.
And……no Amy G either.
“Every year the World Series should go seven games just for the dramatics of it” — Dan Quisenberry
Tim Hudson has had a great career. 214 lifetime wins & 90 games over .500. But even though his post season ERA is about the same as it is in the regular season, he’s only 1-4 over his career.
Hudson felt the need to open his mouth before the Nats series saying that winning in the post season is all about what’s between your legs, not what’s on the stat sheet. We’re going to find out a lot about Tim Hudson tonight. Judging from his own words, more than we need to know.
Cubs hire Joe Maddon. I understand they need a catcher.
Cubs are now paying three guys for the manager position.
I think they have money for a catcher.
Cubs are making their move. This is not good news for the Bucs.
I think Jim Riggleman may still be on the books also.
Remember, I said all along that kc will be the champions.
Duly noted. I trust you went all in with the Royals at Vegas, Dom.
In ws history 36 game7s, even 18 -18 for home and road teams.
What a great start.
Giants franchise 0-4 all time in game 7.
Wow Bumgartner coming in the 5th with a 1 run lead. SF going all in.
This should be interesting with Bumgardner coming in. He threw 110+ pitches on Sunday.
Lead off guy on Jim
Then, a 2-0 count & Yost gives away the out with the bunt. Well, it’s been working all postseason for him. But, I don’t get that move.
He looks a tad off
They really helped him there. First, the bunt, and after the Aoki liner Cain swings at a few balls nowhere near the zone.
That liner to left was huge.
Hope Hurdle is healing and taking in the discussion of the folly of giving up an out to a quality pitcher.
What does that dude make? 25 4-0 in the World Series man o man.
He’s on a 6 yr / $36M deal. Bargain. Obviously.
Wow
Best LHP in baseball does not pitch in a California ravine. Instead, he’s up the coast by a bay. Wow.
Kershaw = Penguins circa 2010-2014 (great regular season, playoff epic fail). MadBum = LA Kings.
Happened to be in a San Diego bar where I overheard a patron telling the mixologist he was rooting for KC because he heard a bunch of Royals were celebrating a recent victory in a bar, recently, and when they left, they picked up the tab for the whole place. Giving back to fans!
I remember that story, Patrick. It was early on – maybe after the WC Game?
If it was a home game.
Ever been to the yard house in San diego? 200 beers on tap.
Posey with 0 XBH in the 2014 postseason.
This Davis guy is rather good, too. Now to squeeze out a run against XMan.
If there is a dude more in the zone than this guy I’d love to see it. He is just lights out. 4 scoreless on 2 days rest and will probably come out for the 9th.
For some reason I get the feeling the Royals aren’t done yet. Hope I’m wrong.
No matter how it turns out, this has been a worthy game seven. Hard not to root for Bumgarner at this point.
I’m calling it now. Mistake to send Madison out for the ninth. Think it’s pushing the envelope just a tad too much. We’ll see in a minute.
Oh my.
As much as they were kicking the ball, I would have made him throw the runner out at home.
I was thinking the same thing.
Gee, I wonder who will be MVP?
One guy can make the difference. And it’s always a pitcher.
I can’t help but think of Freddie Patek. That famous photo.
If Kenny were interviewing Freddie, I wonder who would be looking up at who?
I’d be right there eye to eye with both of them.
It sure is nice to dream and think we might have a shot at this someday, with the likes of Cole, Taillon, Kingham, Glasnow, etc. to pitch us there. I said “dream.”
Beats the heck out of a nightmare.
Yep. And we lost to the best this season. Just a bit of consolation…
True, Karen. You just have to get hot at the right time. These were not the two best teams all year, but they were the best in the postseason for sure.
I thought Erin Andrews did a nice job with all the presentations. But, I felt for the guy from Chevy. Being on National TV with that much info to deliver has to be daunting.
To all of you recent (regular) posters, have a great off-season. Doubt we will congregate much until Hot Stove gets really hot. You have had a great year.
Bad word choice. “Long-term” is better.
Same to you, Patrick!
What a great series! Congrats to San Fran, but also super congrats to the Royals, for the obvious reason that they had suffered along with us for so long. I was really rooting for K.C. to win. I`ve been involved in celebrations for 2 Stanley Cup wins and 2 Super Bowl wins, but
I`ll never understand why people have to flip cars over and start burning everything in sight. There`s overwhelming jubilation, but there`s also complete idiocy.
