On location: Saints 35, Steelers 32, final

Hard game to figure today. Tight Ends kill us. Graham will be hard if not possible to stop.

While I support Blount being axed, having no replacement is unacceptable. Archer does nothing to deserve a helmet. In the entired unemployed world, Harris is the best?

Will Lance Moore get a chance vs old team?

Over/Under on special team penalties and unexplained kickoffs - 2 1/2.

I don't see them winning. New Orleans 34 -23.

One last point non-Steeler related. A wife beater has more credibility than Goodell. What will it take for him to lose his job?

i do not know why we did not take bradshaw in offseason. Dri was taken for speed......wtf about the corners wee need . Tomlin has made a lot of bad decisions past 3 years. why doesnt upper management see this? i do not see us winning this game. brees is gonna throw onbus all day and mike mitchell to everyones knowledge will take credit for tackles and out of bounds catches that never involve him...but get beat all game

Bell gets hurt and all bets are off. Tomlin had no choice but to cut cigarillo but NE hateriots are amazing after Hernandez and they sign this guy to a two year deal, Stillers are a tough read but Saints are dangerous and Breeze is the best QB they have faced so who knows.

Steelers celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Super Bowl IX team, and I see Bradshaw didn't make it. Fox even has the game so I'm guessing they could've arranged for Terry to broadcast from Heinz if he wanted to be there. This is just another reason they should NOT consider retiring #12. Just doesn't seem to embrace the team in my opinion.

Ben not exactly lighting it up early, missed a couple of throws already. Bell on the other hand is looking like he's gonna put up 150 on these guys easily.

Ben hurt.
Doesnt look good for his passing ability.
Hopefully no broken bones.

Ben needs to quit trying to throw interceptions to number 21. If the guy didn't have Ike hands Steelers would be losing right now.

Nice of of Western PA accommodating NO with 60 degree weather. Do we have a roof for them too? Also stating the obvious but field goals don't beat the Saints.

Another misfire by the QB bell could have caught it but once again Ben is off target.

Ben needs a visit from Ray Searage

Thomas and Tuitt are getting killed. Why does Cam Thomas play??

Right on cue Bree's shreds out defense. Nice coverage on that TD, not!

Just an awful throw. Into double coverage for Heyward Bey? Really Ben?

Ben has come down to earth since those back to back 6 TD games - Brees is much better today while Ben is making physical and mental miscues

For a player of polamalu's pedigree, his inability to wrap up on a tackle is maddening. He just pinballs off of people in hopes that they fall down.

Gay beat for the second time down the middle but this time the pass rush doesn't save him.

Brees has ALL DAY to throw the ball. No penetration by this pathetic defense. And, Heyward-Bey is another BRILLIANT signing by Tomlin. The guy has been bad everywhere he has been but, he is fast, just like Archer. LOL

Steelers are in a bit of trouble. Brees is starting to torch the defense and Ben has been dreadful. I'm sure Tomlin will make the necessary half-time adjustments. Like you know putting pressure on Brees, maybe.

Man we need corners and d lineman really bad in next years draft.

Is this the jekyll or Hyde team? They look asleep.

One teams scores td's the other settles for Td's but our offensive ranks very high!

What is Ben's problem today??

Man 2 more high throws from Ben he is really played awful today.

Third straight sub-par performance on offense.
Ben misses Brown and over throws Miller twice.
Saints gave the Steelers a FG and Ben too wild to take it.

Those misfires cost them 3 points atleast. Wanna bet Steelers will need those 3 points?

Ben has more off days than truly elite quarterbacks. Could easily have 21+ points with all the open receivers out there and a strong running game. Brees is so much better today.

Well, now we see if Coach Cliche can make halftime adjustments............ another achilles heel for him.
Ben needs to shake loose, and play better.
If not, an L awaits.

DREADFUL! That is all.

Why didn't the Steelers call timeout when Ingram got the first down on the 4 yard line with 1:20 left in the half? Instead the Saints score with 36 seconds left. Having the ball with 1 minute or more left in the half is better than getting it with 36 seconds and 3 timeouts. In fact they should have stopped the clock at 1:57 when Ingram ran to the 12 yard line.

The dumbass 2nd down throw into double coverage was silly. It truly cost a tired defense 7 points. just dumb.

Half of Ben's 24 TD passes came in two games. In the other 9.5 games he is averaging 1.26 TDs per game.

I expect balanced ball control

The Steelers will need 2-3 years to develop into serious contenders. Time running out on Ben to win another SB with this team.

Brilliant burn a timeout on the 3rd play of the half! Laughable

Bryan return waved off by officials not being ready ? I've seen everything now. That cost steelers 30 yards at least.

Need to get Bell back in the game. Maybe Ben will finally get his head out of his butt then.

That's it. I'm sending Starbucks to the entire offense. Need a wake up call boys

Or maybe not unreal

Saints not nearly as bad as Tampa or Jets but can't lose 3 games like this, including 2 at home and play in January.

Excellent tackling! Haha well the defense had a great 1 st Q. Not that it matters cause it doesn't appear the QB came to play today.

Sad display of tackling on that TD. Troy, Brett and Ike looked like their ages on that ugly play.

On vaca in FLA just walked into bar to catch 2H. Is Ben injured? That is a brutal stat line.

Typical. Saints rediscovering themselves after losing what like 4 in a row. 0-3 against AFC North. Steelers the cure for losing teams. Ben, not a Top 5 QB.

Where's the famous change of pace no huddle?

Wow, did we all see Archer??

No sense of urgency even though a loss today and in Cincy next week basically eliminates them.

Is the AB streak in jeopardy?

Was Heath tripped??

Well they are off the mat. Good drive, now D needs to hold tough!

Never mind !

Has "Renegade" ever resulted in a turnover or 3 and out? Never seems to do anything?

That's all she wrote

No pressure, no corners

The great Steeler D comes thru again, for the Saints.
Guess they have to concentrate on next week.

Keith Gary, where have you gone? ;)

nothing changes with Ike but where was Mitchell on that play??

Welcome back, Ike.

Just think the coaching staff had 2 weeks to prepare and got this effort, pretty weak.

While defense has been horrid this half, this game got away early when Steelers didn't jump on a reeling team and allowed Brees time to get going.

Keisel out with triceps

Can we suit up the SB IX Steelers defense for the fourth quarter?

Fox commentator says "The Steelers were hoping to get a glimpse if what their defense is all about today (due to players returning from injury)"
We have seen what they're all about, giving up points like it's their job.

Someone please get in touch with tomlin/haley/ben. Whatever scoreboard they're looking at must say they're up by 2 touchdowns...zero urgency

Unfortunately for Ben fg's won't cut it at this point. Brees is shredding the defense. If you don't score TDs, you're gonna lose to another team with a terrible record.

Love the Sean Spence story but he cannot play in the NFL.

Come on Ike just knock it away.

Very difficult to win in the NFL kicking field goals unless you have a shut down defense, something the Steelers do not have.

Ben has looked sloppy today

The Steelers don't deserve a Bowl bid. Laughable performance in front of Super Bowl IX team sans Bradshaw.

Welcome to another 8-8!

Two weeks to get ready for this game. Tomlin is rivaled only by Paul Chryst in a coach's inability to have his team prepared.

So glad Steelers used a coveted 3rd round draft pick on Dri Archer... Nice pick Tomlin/Colbert. They felt we had quality DBs. Ugh!

Defensive game plan? When there's zero pressure on Brees, he'll eat you alive.

Seeing another year out of playoffs.

Atrocious performance. They don't deserve even a sniff at a playoff game. Again, to paraphrase a former Pittsburgh head coach, they look (particularly on D) "soff".

Ok, I can relax now. Antonio has his 5th catch to continue his "significant" record.

The streak survives!! Whew!! That was close.

Obviously

Man they get a little bit healthy, have a bye week to prepare, are at home, and we get....this....
Yikes.
Unacceptable.

Steelers 2015 draft: 1) cornerback 2) cornerback 3) cornerback 4) nose tackle 5) safety ...

Hey, who needs Jimmy Graham when you've got our secondary?

Overkill.

20 less throws and 1 TD short of Ben's two best TD games.

That's efficiency. To say the least.

Think it's time for Tomljn to go. Inconsistent playing and losing against sub .500 teams is a recipe for disaster

Bengals win (courtesy of Bucs having 12 men on the field) means a loss next week in Cincy essentially eliminate them. Browns and Steelers show themselves to be pretenders.

They just couldn't put a complete game together today.

Suddenly, Tomlin cannot beat a Ryan???

Lost badly at home to a 4-7 team after the bye week. Hmmmmm

This game was all on Ben and the defense or better yet--lack of.

Bengals now 1.5 games clear of three teams at 7-5.

They aren't winning another game.

Don't we all know it's all about fantasy stats! The offense stinks when the game matters one TD and 3 fg's and 2 turnovers in 3 qtrs, been that way most of the year with exception of the first half of game one and Ben's two game streak. We all knew the defense would stink. This will be another 8-8 year without much being gained by the young defensive players drafted.

The worst part about this season might be that since they'll likely end up around 9-7 they won't even get a decent pick. They'll have to make a really astute choice to get an impact player. They don't do astute choices much these days.

Teams with a quality QB who can pass is a just a bad matchup for the Steelers. Brees picked them apart and with a decent running game, Steelers just had to know TD's were the game today. Tough this year anyway with tight cap and injuries along with questionable roster management. I am not sure a 9-7 gets in but the AFC stinks so who knows.

Can we trade Tomlin for Mike McCarthy from Green Bay???

Did anyone say anything about Ben's thumb in the post game press conferences?

Modern NFL is a largely a choice between elite QB or great defense, it is very hard to pay for both. (Premium cap hits for Polamalu and Taylor's post prime performance further complicates things.)

When your QB consuming a huge cap hit, turns it over twice and is completing <50% when the outcome was in doubt, it is difficult to win.

Defense has been the problem all season.
Can't stop anyone.

Keisel out for the rest of the year.

1. Tomlin needs to be fired.
2. LeBeau needs to retire so Butler can take over.

The rest takes care of itself as the team rebuilds.

What did Tomlin, staff, and players do over the past two weeks? Play tiddly-winks, apparently.

Tomlin needs to go. He looks clueless on that sideline.

I agree with the Tomlin haters, but man, Ben looked ROUGH. Not sure if there was an injury he was dealing with or not, but that was hard to watch.

Has any team had 4 free agent acquisitions as bad and/or unproductive as this year's Steeler group. Mitchell, Thomas, Blount and Moore?

Speaking as a Saints fan -- they've been hot garbage the past month. But the Steelers just made them look like world beaters. That was an ugly home effort by Pittsburgh.

If you would have told me we would have held Jimmy Graham to zero catches and targets, and we STILL would give up 35 points I would have called you a liar on the spot.

The wonderful preparation of the Steelers coaching staff coupled with continued excellence by Mike Mitchell and the other Steelers defense against sub-.500 teams is such a beauty to watch. If, by beauty, you enjoy watching train derailments and plane crashes.

The score should have never been as close as the end indicated. Mike Mitchell is an airhead. Ben was playing not to lose before the injury. Brett Kiesel done for the year? Wonder if he will hang them up forever?

I have an idea...no more pressers about what needs to be done. Just shut up and do it already. Offense and defense need to play as consistent units for each and every bit of those 60 minutes. No more garbage penalties, garbage throws, or cheap shots due to frustration!

That is all! Going back in the shadows again!

If The Steelers miss the playoffs again this season not only will that be 3 straight years, but they will have missed the post-season on half of Tomlin's tenure here.(4 of 8 years) If that happens and nothing is done once again, I don't want to hear this garbage of "the standard" or "The Steelers Way", as clearly those are words that have lost all meaning.

I would say some housecleaning needs to take place.
My list in order:
1. Colbert. It's all about the draft the last 5 years.
2. LeBeau. Time to hang them up. It's a passing game. Using 1st round draft picks on front 7 instead of DB's really showing up. The theory of pressure the QB over top notch DB's ain't working now is it!!!!
3. Haley or Tomlin or both.

I smell, and it stinks, another 8-8 effort by these "men". That's 24-24 over the past 3 years. If that's the standard, why bother? With 99 out, this team could spiral down faster than it already has. Sure am glad we have all these anniversaries coming up - maybe the old guys can teach this group of selfies a thing about pride and winning.
