Blue Jackets 4, Penguins 3, SO, final

Watch this one boys. Its going to be a good one, eh. A measuring stick for both teams IMO. The thrashing we got last year and the New and Improved Version this year, eh. Wonderful competition.

Farnham + Rust = 2 points. How can we go wrong?

Farnham wearing #34, Rust #36

Klinkhammer on the first line. Wow.

I hate to see all of these injuries, but it does give HCMJ a chance to see what he has down on the farm. This will lead to better call-ups later in the season.

Let's hope our farmhand isn't rusty.

Where is Downie at he is supposed to be protecting these guys?

Flyers West.

I imagine with CBJ trying to establish their physical play combined with our lineup, this is what we should expect.

My God Dubinsky is such a pansy

Hey DK. I know you're in Atlanta, but watching this hockey game I came up with a question for you. I know sometimes other teams are testing the Penguins & their toughness. My question is, do you feel that other coaching staffs are testing Mike Johnston at the same time?

Comeau continues to look like one of the best signing this off-season.

We seem determined to turn the puck over this period.

Pine Richland played a heck of a state title game, but lost tonight to St. Joseph Prep, 49 - 41.

SHORTY!

Great shorty by Adams and Letang!

Despres is not having one of his better games.

Haha, I knew there was no chance they were giving a PP this late in the game.

Not sure who that ref is, but he sucks.

I guess when you're tripped, you're not sposed to fall down

It's a PS when They're tripped, and Embellishment when we are.
Good to know.

Great last period, and now bonus hockey.

We miss Flower in the shootouts.

Greiss undressed in shootout.

IMO it should have been a no-brainer for Johnston to put Fleury in for the shootout. Greiss looked uncomfortable. Depres is a huge liability on D, he played a horrific game. Good job of getting a point though. Every point is a bonus with this lineup.

Glad they grabbed one.

Know bar set high in Pgh but need to show little love for Geno. High battle level after a long shift, and determination in circle leading to Letang's goal might go unnoticed. Not by me and other Geno lovers. Love this hockey player. Would love to see sit down with DK, assuming he can wrest him away from "authorized biographer" that is.

Letang reenergized with new staff. Last time saw one-timer on net -- well, maybe never? Love it. Gotta be new haircut.

Even in OT loss, lovin' seeds of what's planted. Bodes well moving forward.

Team chemistry a cool thing. Can't artificially manufacture it but seeing it in developing in spades.

Time for this kid.

Beginning at 1:58 mark.

I have to admit, for a December game, that was about as fun and intense of a game as you can hope for. Great game tonight, great to get a point. Great entertainment. Great heart.

I disagree with subbing in fleury for the shootout coming in cold like that he would be more likely to be hurt and probably wouldn't be nearly as good as he would be fully loose and having seen the the whole game... Just let greiss be they were fortunate to get one point anyway

Despres is their most improved player, Bylsma forced he an Letang to play a silly system. No coach in their right mind would put in another goalie for a shootout cold off the bench

Last night is the perfect example of why a shootout should NOT decide the outcome of a hockey game. Terrific effort on both sides and a fun game to watch. I've heard one proposal that teams should go 3 on 3 after the overtime period and if it is still tied...then it's a tie! Not sure which approach is best, but I know the shootout needs to go away - forever.
