Podcast: Deflate-gate, Penguins w/ TSN Winnipeg

Quite Tired of hearing, universally, across the spectrum of sportswriters and TV talking heads that the deflated balls made no difference; That the Patriots won handily anyway, due to their second half performance.

about that Second half...

Do you think Brady didn't notice the change in footballs after half time?
Do you think that motivated him?
How about the rest of the Offense who may have been 'in the know'?
Did Luck and his Colts get the same sobering second half boost?

It's called a "game of inches," due to the small increments that can change an outcome. Deflated footballs count for how many quantifiable inches?

Every time a Patriot simply touched a ball in the first half, they had a Plausible Competitive Advantage(per former QB and Coach interviews)

Not one mention, from any talking head, that Luck and the Colts didn't have access to the deflated balls in the first half and how that might have affected their own performance.

How do you know Luck's accuracy, velocity, confidence, and points scored
would not have improved if using deflated balls?

The Competitive playing field was not level for the entire game, therefore, the entirety of the game's outcome is suspect.

To date, the uncontested, universal message inferred by
EVERY sportswriter (Print, Blog, and TV):

CHEAT FOR HALF A GAME, BUT WIN BIG, AND IT'S OK, NO HARM DONE.

Most unfortunately, that is an omen that reflects on far, far more than just the mere state of 'sport' in America.

This newest controversy makes you wonder how much they have been cheating over the years and have been getting away with it...

If Brady and/or Belichick are found guilty of any wrong doing then one and/or the other should be suspended for the Super Bowl.

Seahawks CB Richard Sherman said he didn't feel that the league was going to punish NE. I wonder if that was his way of provoking the league to do so.

The NFL is rapidly going in the same direction as WWE pro wrestling with well scripted storylines and pre-determined outcomes. No longer a sport, strictly an entertainment vehicle.

Sad truth my friends.

This was for sure organized cheating. I even said at one point during the game that NE game plan was to pass pass pass...in a torrential rain storm. Even after the game became a joke, Brady continued to pass. No running out the clock. The last series before he came out if the game he was passing. What NFL team has a game plan of passing under those conditions? Unless you know you have that advantage. They will never do the right thing because they never do, but the NFL should suspend both Brady & Bellichek

People have now realized that New England fumbles at home a lot less than other teams fumble, which presumably would be helped by a softer football. Is it a coincidence? There's an interesting data-analytical article here -- apparently it's very unlikely that it's just chance. :-)
