Virginia Tech 70, Pitt 67, OT

This game is not going to garner instant classic status this evening.

Forget 20 wins, Jamie might be lucky to stay above .500 when this is all said and done. Other than Bryant, the remaining schedule looks more and more daunting every defensive lapse.

This is so painful to watch. Like most loyal Pitt fans, I just can't look away. It's like watching the Pirates during their losing streak. Sloppy play, undisciplined and no talent.

Dejan, I know you said recruiting can change, but Maverick Rowan was exactly the player you were talking about in the Qs today. Pitt needs start landing guys like that otherwise their gonna thumped regularly in the ACC.

Dixon should hire an offensive specialist. for as good as he is a coach, you gotta score to win and he doesn't let his guys just play. let the reigns go a little

Meanwhile, Artis starting to turn into a nice player.

Would you believe the BALTIMORE pipeline?

Speaking of which, Lunchbox traded yet?

Interested to see what impact Buzz will have at VA Tech. Don't know that leaving Marquette was a step up, other than conference.

Pitt has to get a big who can play. Desperation stage is getting close.

Ouch, Cam Wright.

They are really bad--never seen so many basketball players that CANNOT shoot!!!

Sorry this one is all on Jamie Dixon. Basic basketball. Poor decisions down the stretch.

Plain and simple... a bad loss, to a bad team, by a bad team.

Why exactly did Dixon opt to not foul on last possession in regulation instead of allowing them to shoot a 3?

It's amazing to me a program like Virginia can be top 10 and land talent and we are stuck with Chris Jones, Josh Newkirk, Derrick Randall, etc. Why can't we recruit? Is Dixon's system scaring them off or is he too concerned with finding diamonds in the rough and shaping them to his mold?

Season is over after losing to this glorified junior college team, plain and simple.

But hey, that Jaime Dixon is such a great coach!

Tough loss. Actually seemed like Robinson hit a couple clutch shots down the stretch, which was surprising. But after reading these comments, I wonder if the Pitt fan base deserves losing Jamie.
